Home Instead Caregiver

A tradition of great caregiving means that we take care of our own as well as we take care you and your family.

Our recipe for a CAREGiver is often imitated but never duplicated.

Quality people.

We have a two stage interview and orientation process which allows us to truly get to know the individuals who seek to become members of the Home Instead Senior Care family. At this stage in the process, we rely heavily on our instincts. If something doesn't seem quite right...GAME OVER.

Personal and Professional References.

For those who pass the first gauntlet we then demand personal and professional references. If any of the six references are anything but glowing...GAME OVER.

Criminal Background Checks.

At this point we are reasonably sure we have someone who could potentially become a Home Instead Senior Care CAREGiver but there is more work still to be done. We now perform background checks (10 years), social security verification, and driving record checks. All our CAREGivers are bonded and insured.

Once an applicant has cleared all of these hurdles, they may begin their training to become a Home Instead Senior Care CAREGiver!

Out of approximately fifty interviews we conduct in typical month, we will usually only hire three or four of them. The stakes are far too high to demand anything less than the best.
Our bottom line: We don't send anyone into your home that we wouldn't feel confident sending into our own.

Home Instead, Inc. recognizes regional CAREGivers of the Year and one special CAREGiver who shows exceptional dedication is the recipient of the national award — The Mary Steibel CAREGiverSM of the Year Award.

This program inspires CAREGivers to strive for excellence. It creates a sense of pride and rewards their hard work, compassionate care and service to others.
