The backbone of our brand is a network of more than 800 franchises located in the United States and 11 other countries around the world (Canada, Japan, Portugal, Spain, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Taiwan, Switzerland and Germany).
It was Paul's own family experience caring for his grandmother in Omaha, Nebraska, that provided the inspiration for Home Instead Senior Care. Today, there are more than 50,000 dedicated and highly-trained CAREGiversSM delivering extraordinary care worldwide. These compassionate CAREGivers serve seniors in practically any living arrangement, providing friendship, social interaction, and assistance with day-to-day activities that allow them to live independently at home for as long as possible.

A Dynamic and Respected Organization
From humble beginnings in 1994 to today, Paul and Lori Hogan continue to be pioneers in the senior care industry, significantly enriching the lives of seniors and their families, as well as changing the face of agingSM for future generations.
- In 1998, Home Instead Senior Care had grown to 99 franchises and was recognized by Entrepreneur magazine as one of the 100 fastest growing franchise networks in the United States.
- In 2000, Home Instead Senior Care began international development with the opening of an international partner relationship in Osaka, Japan.
- In 2002, Paul was a driving force in the creation of The National Private Duty Association (NPDA), and still maintains an active leadership role. The nearly 900 agency members are the voice of home health care and non-medical home care services delivered inan honest and ethical manner.
- The Home Instead Senior Care Foundation was created in 2003 to further the philanthropic mission of franchisees by providing financial assistance to non-profit organizations for activities designed to improve the quality of life for seniors.
- In 2008, the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha, - one of the preeminent healthcare facilities in the United States - announced the building of the Home Instead Center for Successful Aging.
This new facility will house UNMC's geriatric medicine and geriatric psychiatry programs, and provide space for a dedicated Community Education and Outreach Center.
