A Team with Home Care Vision

Paul and Lori Hogan

Lori Hogan, Co-Founder, and Paul Hogan, Co-Founder and Chairman

In 1994, Paul and Lori Hogan co-founded Home Instead Senior Care®. On June 1 of that year, they began operating the company out of an office in his mother's home with one desk and one computer. Today, the Home Instead Senior Care network includes nearly 900 franchise offices worldwide, with locations in 15 countries and Puerto Rico.

Since the beginning, their leadership has helped take Home Instead Senior Care from one franchise in Omaha to nearly 900 worldwide. The company is now the undisputed global senior care leader, and its momentum and growth continue unabated. "We didn't invent the idea of senior care, since it's been around in families or other forms for generations," Paul says. "But we did start the non-medical senior care industry." Lori agrees: "We've taken one of the oldest 'businesses' - senior care, which people have always done - and turned it into something that people could make into a career," she said.

Paul's move in June 1, 2010 from CEO to Chairman was intended to help keep Home Instead Senior Care at the forefront of the global senior care industry, and to enable him to play a bigger role in guiding and impacting industry-related legislation. In his words, as Chairman, he will concentrate "more of his energies and efforts on developing the senior care industry and the Home Instead Senior Care brand."

In 1985, Paul began his franchising career with Merry Maids; he remained with the company until founding Home Instead Senior Care in 1994. From 1987 to 1994, Lori owned and operated Classic Empressions, an Omaha modeling and self-development program for pre-teen, teenage, and adult women.

Paul - who was born in Norcross, GA, but grew up in Omaha - has a Bachelor's degree in business (specializing in finance) from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Lori likewise was born in Georgia - at Fort Benning - and grew up in Omaha; she has a Bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
