Tina Hanna has been a CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care in Grosse Pointe Woods since May, 2008.  She was voted CAREGiver of the month for January 2009 and then in December 2009 was nominated for CAREGiver of the Year for 2009!  We are very proud to have Tina on our staff.

We wanted to share a few things about Tina and why she was nominated CAREGiver of the Year.  Tina is currently working on two separate jobs, one of which is extremely difficult at times and the other is more of a companionship job.

When Tina came in for her initial interview, she brought a positive, upbeat attitude to the interview.  During her interview she revealed that she had taken care of her aunt who had advanced dementia.  Tina moved her into her home and took care of her until her passing.  We had a new job starting that required just a person and we knew at that time, perhaps we had been sent an angel.  Tina worked with this new client until the husband decided he wanted to take care of his wife by himself and service ended.

A family member of one of Tina's clients sent us a letter in regards to his thoughts on Tina Hanna.  Tina helps this gentleman out a couple times a week with light house work, meals, conversation etc.   The following is an excerpt from the letter:  "The first thing we noticed about Tina was that she was always positive and upbeat.  She seems to always be overflowing with energy and a cheerful outlook.  She has been just a joy to us, but especially Dad.  She is very efficient at what she is paid to do. It's what she isn't paid to do that has been a great blessing to Dad.  Tina goes out of her way to make sure Dad's needs are met, emergency trips to Kroger's and the bank are not unusual.  Last summer her daughter was married and Tina brought Dad over some wedding cake afterwards.  Tina has in fact contributed to Dad's ability to remain independent by stimulating his mind and helping him to improve his self confidence.  Tina Hanna because of this, has gained our family's love and trust.  It's like she is part of our family."

Congratulations Tina as you have shown us that you are truly deserving of CAREGiver of the Year for 2009!!!
