Gloria Snider, LPN, conducts the mandatory training program that teaches our CAREGivers™ how to give the best in non-medical care. At the beginning of a CAREGiver’s™ employment with Home Instead Senior Care, they go through a two-day training program. This multi-faceted training program begins with the learning of the basics of caregiving, safety precautions in the home they should be aware of and, finally, making out CAREGivers™ aware of activities they can be doing with out clients in order to encourage and stimulate them. The program then goes into the advanced skills of caringgiving, along with an in-depth, hands-on personal care training program that teaches our CAREGivers™ the safe and proper techniques of helping our clients with their activities of daily living, i.e. bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, transferring, eating, etc. At the end of the course, CAREGivers™ have to demonstrate the skills they have learned.
