Tim and Buffy Dungan
Improving senior's independence, quality of life, and length of life is why Buffy and I joined the Home Instead Senior Care family. We are both Occupational Therapists and understand the GREAT desire seniors have to stay independent and to remain in their familiar surroundings. As therapists, we are familiar with using therapy and assistive devices to help individuals stay independent and continue to perform their activities of daily living. Seniors that are able to function independently have a much greater sense of purpose and satisfaction with their lives.
In August 2006, we had the opportunity to open the Home Instead Senior Care office serving the Texoma area. We have been blessed to meet many extraordinary individuals and assist them in remaining in their homes. One of our first clients was Buffy's grandmother. She was a feisty, independent, go-getter that was very active into her eighties, until she was diagnosed with dementia. She was able to live out the remainder of her life in an Independent Living Facility with the help of a Home Instead CAREGiver. Buffy's mother also had a CAREGiver that assisted her with her basic activities of daily living as well as performing cooking and light housekeeping. These CAREGiving services allowed her to stay at home, despite deteriorating health, and provided her with a great friend and companion.
Family is extremely important to us and that's why it is so rewarding to see not only how Home Instead Senior Care makes a difference in the lives of our clients; but also in their family members lives. Building a sense of family with our clients, our staff, and our CAREGivers is one of our primary goals as we work throughout Texoma. We hope to provide many more families with the same kind of wonderful experiences we have had with our own family, and it's to them that we dedicate this work.
In their spare time, Tim and Buffy enjoy spending time with their two daughters, Lena and Kinsey, participating in church activities, pursuing an active lifestyle, and going camping. They also enjoy leading the local Be A Santa To A Senior program and participating in Chamber events. They are both active members of the Home Care Association of America, and Tim is currently the Vice President of the Texas Chapter. Tim has been involved with the planning committee of the Annual Caregiver Walk for the last nine years. This program allows family caregivers respite care who deal with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease. Tim and Buffy also provide support to organizations such as the Pregnancy Care Center, Compassion International, and the Grayson County Crisis Center.
Mandy joined the Home Instead Senior Care team in April 2009. As Staffing Coordinator, Mandy maintains regular contact with each CAREGiver. By knowing the personality and strengths of each CAREGiver, Mandy is able to make the best match possible between client and CAREGiver.
In her spare time, Mandy enjoys spending time with her husband, Michael, their 2 sons, Anthony and Colby, and their newest addition in June 2014, a princess, Alyssa. Baseball and Cub Scouts keep her family busy. She also relishes quality time with her immediate family in the area and participating in church activities, gardening, and taking care of her many animals.
Robin Willis started in January 2012 as our On Call Supervisor, and is now a fulltime member of our office staff as Care Coordinator. Robin conducts quality assurance visits to help assure superior CAREGiver and Client Compatibility. She also conducts care consultations at the beginning of the relationship with our Clients and their families and performs Client/CAREGiver Introductions to insure the start of care is seamless. Robin has worked in the dental/medical field for over 20 years before joining us at Home Instead Senior Care.
Robin enjoys spending time with her husband Baron, and has 2 grown children, Kirby and Eric. In her spare time she loves almost any outdoor activity and is a cross fit enthusiast. She also enjoys reading and traveling to anywhere new, near or far.
Robin loves her position with Home Instead Senior Care. She knows she is exactly where God wants her, because of the good feeling she experiences everyday knowing we, as a team, have helped those we serve to the best of our ability.
