Here are a few of the ways that our CAREGivers are touching the lives of Senior in Washington County

  • Chris took soup, a paper & cookies to her clients when her shift was canceled due to their illness.
  • Cindy worked a 15 hour shift with her client on Christmas Day.
  • C.J. offered to stay for an over night shift with her client because he was not feeling well and did not want to be alone, after she had already worked an 8 hour day with him.
  • Claudia showed her client how to make lace.  The client in her earlier days was a dedicated needle point & cross-stitch aficionado.
  • Denise went to the Library and checked out some books for her client on the history of the city of Pittsburgh.  They were talking one day and she discovered this was an interest.
  • Janet accepted an assignment to cover a call-off shift for that afternoon while at the CAREGiver Appreciation Breakfast.
  • Jane sends her client cards in the mail because the client complains that all the mail is for her daughter.
  • Kathy makes pasta and brings it to her client because she likes it so much.
  • Bob helped re-stuff  his Client's coat then sewed it up, he also took time to look over the building in which his Client lives making suggestions to help make the building more handicapped accessible for his Client and all the others living in the building.
  • Cindy went to her Client's home and fed and watered her birds while she was in the hospital.
  • Elaine called the office and volunteered to work an extra unfilled Saturday shift with one of her Clients so that she could fix them a special dinner and take it to them.
  • Joyce takes her Client to garage sales, dinner and movies, then writes beautiful descriptions of what she and the Client have done so the daughter who lives out of state can know her mother is well taken care of.
  • Peggy plays Jazz music and engages her Client with various craft mediums because he was an artist.
