Voice Journals: A CAREGiving Activity the Family Will Value and Love

Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or other related dementias is challenging. As the disease progresses, it often becomes difficult for families to find meaningful ways to engage their loved one in activities. Long term memories will remain, however - allowing families to reminisce, hear stories and share family traditions.

Audio journaling, like scrapbooking, is a fun and unique activity that both the CAREGiver and client can enjoy.  This activity allows you to record memories and stories easily using a recording device or telephone to record your client. It’s easier and faster than writing, and you never run the risk of damaging or misplacing treasured memories like you do with traditional journaling and scrapbooking.

Capturing memories and life events on audio is not only valuable to an aging senior, but to their family and generations to come. What better way to pass on family traditions? Imagine hearing Grandma’s recipe in her voice, or Grandpa’s war stories and life lessons to comfort, inspire, teach and entertain.

What’s The Voice Library?

The Voice Library is the easiest, most convenient and safest way to record and share stories and memories with family and friends. If you know how to use a telephone, then you can use the Voice Library. It’s as simple as making a phone call to record yourself and your client’s conversation. You’ll instantly have a recording that their family and friends can share.
