Some historical area information:

Hillsboro is the fifth-largest city in the U.S. state of Oregon and is the county seat of Washington County. Hillsboro is located on the west side of the Portland metropolitan area. The city is home to many high-technology companies, such as Intel, that comprise what has become known as the Silicon Forest. As of 2009, the city's estimated population was about 90,000.

Washington County is one of 36 counties in Oregon. Originally named Twality when created in 1843, the territorial legislature renamed it for the first president of the United States, George Washington, in 1849.
The original boundaries included the entire northwest corner of Oregon before sections became new counties. The county has borders in common with the Tualatin Valley and is bordered on the west and north by the Northern Oregon Coast Range, on the south by the Chehalem Mountains, and on the north and east by the Tualatin Mountains (or West Hills).
