Laurie Hamilton - Franchise Owner In 2005, I was seeking a career change. My goal was to work in a field that I could give back to others and feel that I was making a difference in their lives. Home Instead Senior Care was the perfect fit. My sister Leslie and her husband Claude owned a local Home Instead office in MD and loved working with seniors and their families. Also, my grandmother lived with us when I was growing up, which was such a blessing to me, and I saw first hand how families needed support to keep loved ones at home. No such service existed then and my parents had to rely on family and friends.
My husband Dave was extremely supportive and encouraged me to "take the leap of faith" and we officially opened Home Instead Senior Care of Dauphin County on April 27, 2005. I have never looked back. It is unquestionably one of the best decisions I have ever made. I am passionate about my business and never underestimate the trust that families put in me and my staff. To me, it's personal. Michael James - Finance Coordinator Mike came to Home Instead Senior Care in December 2008. Always providing quality customer services to our clients, he manages the financial processes such as payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and web development. Mike is the son of owner Laurie Hamilton.
Mike says, "To me working for Home Instead means doing something that I know is helping others and taking part in the family business." Charleen Hall - Community Liaison
Charleen has recently joined the Home Instead Senior Care family. She is our Community Liaison and works closely with local facilities, organizations and professionals throughout Dauphin County. Charleen provides education about senior issues, and makes sure that local professionals are always aware of the full scope of care and services we provide.
Charleen says, “I started as a CAREGiver, part of a great team. Having built wonderful relationships with the families and knowing I was making a difference, I wanted to do more. I wanted to tell everyone I met about Home Instead Senior Care. So now I am and very proud to be part of the International Leader in non-medical Senior Care.” Donna Thibeault - Human Resources Manager Donna came to Home Instead Senior Care in July 2007 when she moved to the area from Massachusetts. There she also worked for a local Home Instead Office. Donna's responsibilities involve the recruitment and hiring of all CAREGivers as well as running our training program and managing all human resource functions. She supervises our dedicated and caring team of CAREGivers.
Donna says, "I enjoy being part of a team in the leading company in the world that provides care to our seniors. That motivates me every day to help all of our CAREGivers to succeed. My passion and goal is for our CAREGivers to know and feel they are valued, appreciated and are the best." Denise Long - Staff Coordinator Denise joined Home Instead Senior Care in August 2006 as a CAREGiver. She then moved to working in the office in her current position. Denise's main responsibilities are to effectively and quickly handle staffing and scheduling of our clients and CAREGivers as well as to act as the Case Manager of assigned clients.
Denise says, "As a member of the office staff, I've enjoyed watching relationships grow between our clients and CAREGivers. I am grateful for having the opportunity to be part of a company that has such a positive impact on the well being of our senior citizens." Amber Segaar - Staff Coordinator Amber joined Home Instead Senior Care early in 2012.
