1. Is the person coming into your home bonded and are both parties protected by appropriate insurances?
2. How many criminal background checks are done on the caregiver? (we do 3!) Is there an annual follow-up background check? How many professional references have been evaluated on the caregiver? (we require 6 references!)
3. If there is an accident in your home, who will be responsible to pay the worker's compensation claim? You or the individual you hired?
4. Does the rate include payment of taxes and withholdings, such as contributions to Social Security, unemployment taxes and other requirements of employers? Is the income reported to the IRS?
5. Is there a caring representative, not a recording, available to respond to changing needs and assist you 7 days a week; 24 hours/day? Will another CAREGiver provide backup services if the scheduled CAREGiver becomes ill or is vacationing?
6. How often are quality assurance reviews performed? Does a manager personally evaluate the quality of care & services provided for your loved one?
7. Is there an ongoing, monitored training program for the CAREGivers?
8. Are they responsive and attentive to your personal needs and questions? Are they flexible in adjusting to your needs? Did they guarantee service within 24 hours or when you needed it?
9. Do prices increase for evenings and/or weekends?
