Home Instead Senior Care is a national sponsor of the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk. In 2008 and 2009 Home Instead of Lancaster County participated in the Memory Walk at Longs Park in Lancaster. Unfortunately due to the change of ownership and a lot going on here we were not able to participate this year as we had in the past 2 years. We are looking forward to 2011 and taking steps to fight against Alzheimer’s. In 2008 and 2009 we had wonderful participation from our CAREGiver’s and Clients.

Memory Walk 2008

Home Instead of Lancaster County held a very large rummage sale to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association. We had a team of over 20 members consisting of CAREGiver’s, Office Staff, friends and family, who all worked hard to make this a huge success. Everyone donated items to be sold, many of the members showed up early on the morning of the sale to help price and set things up. One of Home Instead’s Clients was moving from her apartment into an Assisted Living Facility and she and her family decided to donate most of her things to this cause. We were able to raise over $1,600.00, and our team was in top 10 teams recognized in PA for raising the most funds. Thanks to everyone who had a part in making this happen!

 

Memory Walk 2009

In 2009 The Home Instead Team of Lancaster County decided to have a Bake Sale to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association. We had excellent participation from our Client and CAREGiver’s baking items together to be sold at the sale. One of our Clients who had Alzheimer’s baked 24 dozen cookies with the help of her family and CAREGivers. We also sold chocolate, candles, and forget-me-not flowers that hung on our Home Instead banner from July – the Memory Walk. As a Team we raised over $1,100.00. Thanks to all for your support and team work!
