24-Hour Around-the-Clock Care
In addition to our complete range of hourly come and go services, Home Instead Senior Care of Valdosta also offers 24 hour around the clock care.
Home Instead Senior Care of Valdosta's 24-hour care consists of two (2) caregivers serving your loved one around the clock on alternating days. During the daytime hours, the caregiver will assist your loved one with the variety of services that Home Instead Senior Care offers. This includes companionship, bathing and dressing assistance, light housekeeping laundry and meal preparation
Since this caregiver will be working during the daytime hours, it is understood they need to get their rest at night. On occasion, a client may wake and need assistance, but it's important for the caregiver to get enough sleep at night so they can perform to the best of their ability during the day. With 24-hour care services, one main caregiver is in the home for a 24 hour shift and will rotate with another caregiver on alternating days.
Occasionally, situations will arise when a 24-hour shift is not sufficient to meet the needs of a client. Some examples would be:
- If the client wakes repeatedly at night
- If the family prefers a caregiver be awake at night with the client
- A bed-side sitter in a hospital or a facility is needed
- The client has a difficult situation that is not easily handled by one person
In these cases, we offer a service known as shift work. Shift work still ensures 24 hour care for the client, but instead is done with two caregivers per day who each work a 12 hours or three caregivers who work an 8 hour shift per day. The scheduling will depend on the level of care required for your loved one.
