Cheryle Calwile, Client Care Coordinator

Cheryle came to Home Instead Senior Care in November of 2006. She started her career with Home Instead as the Administrative Assistant. In 2011, Cheryle was promoted to Client Care Coordinator. Cheryle’s primary responsibility is to ensure quality care is being delivered to the client. “The best part of my job is the wonderful CAREGivers and clients that I serve. I enjoy getting to know them and being able to help with their needs. My dream has always been to be a part of something much bigger than myself. Home Instead Senior Care has made that a reality for me.” Cheryle is originally from Honea Path, South Carolina. She has two nieces Brianna and Keisha and two nephews Kameco and Austin that she adores. Cheryle’s parents, Freddie and Margaret, and sister Ann still live in her hometown and she enjoys her visits to see them throughout the year. She enjoys going to church, fishing, playing bingo and spending time with her friends, and her dogs Brodie and Reicee.

Carolyn Richardson, Staffing Coordinator

Carolyn joined Home Instead Senior Care as a Staff Coordinator in March of 2010. Her primary responsibility is scheduling CAREGivers that are appropriate to meet the needs of the clients. Carolyn finds having direct frontline contact with clients and CAREGivers a new and interesting experience. “My employment history primarily has been in the back office, in financial or administrative roles. As such, I’ve managed frontline employees, so it’s an interesting experience being the frontline. The most rewarding part of the job is when the match between client and CAREGiver proves equally beneficial. Knowing that both client and CAREGiver are happy with the match creates a win-win situation for everyone.” Carolyn is a lifelong resident of Central Virgin

Sherrica Brooks, Administrative Assistant

Sherrica joined Home Instead Senior Care as the Administrative Assistant in February of 2009 after starting her career being a CAREGiver in 2005. She plays a vital part in the daily operations of the office. She assists with the recruitment process and checks all CAREGiver references. Sherrica is the frontline of almost all communication from CAREGivers and clients. When calling the office, it is usually her warm, friendly voice that will be heard. She provides a wide range of administrative duties and is an invaluable member of the office staff. She is a wife and mother of two boys, Daekwon and Deontae. In her spare time she enjoys going to numerous sporting/school events for her kids and is an active member of her church.

Laura Reice, Billing/RN

Laura joined Home Instead Senior Care in February of 2008 as the Administrative Assistant while she was finishing her nursing degree. Her duties continue to change and morph into new and exciting responsibilities. Laura’s main function is overseeing the client invoices and CAREGiver hours worked. She also fills in for the nurses in their absence and implements new office technology. The best part of her job is the many different “hats” she gets to wear on a daily basis and knowing the work being done by CAREGivers and office staff is truly making a difference in someone’s life. Laura is originally from the Shenandoah Valley, but has been a resident of Charlottesville for the past 8 years. She and her husband are enjoying newlywed life after being married in October 2010. They both enjoy traveling, live music and spending time with family and friends. She is currently enrolled at Old Dominion University working towards her BSN.

Bonnie Henderson, RN

The majority of her experience has been in home health care. The best part of her job is getting to know the clients and their families and meeting their needs with satisfaction. Bonnie’s main functions are to perform all new personal care assessments, follow-up supervisory visits and to supervise personal care CAREGivers in the client’s homes. Dianne Murray BSN, RN, MA

Dianne joined Home Instead Senior Care in November 2008 to develop and implement the personal care training program. Her responsibilities include training and staff development, continuous quality improvement and being a participating member of a team that’s committed to superior client care. CAREGivers newly hired are enthusiastic learners and her job is to try and sustain that enthusiasm during their employment with Home Instead Senior Care which ideally translates into a competent and more knowledgeable CAREGiver. Dianne has been married for 46 years to the same guy, has 5 children and 7 grandchildren. She loves travel, reading, going to the movies and entertaining the many friends and family who visit her and her husband in Charlottesville.

Her hobbies include reading, photography, spending time at the beach, and spending time with her two manic dogs and the horse that she and her daughter share.

Una Ezell, Recruiting and Retention Coordinator

Una began her position here in April 2008 as the Recruiting and Retention Coordinator. Having worked extensively in human resources in her previous career, she brings a genuine love of people and a passion for the elderly community to the Home Instead Senior Care team. Una understands the great responsibility of hiring the best CAREGivers to maintain the highest level of care for our clients. "I have never before enjoyed such a rewarding experience - getting to know the current group of amazing CAREGivers and clients and knowing that we have such a positive and empowering impact on our elderly population is such an honor. I truly believe we are making a difference. I know my grandmother would be proud." Una has two step children, Zoe 11, Bear 6, and a daughter, Lulu 3. Before coming to work here, Una spent many years traveling and exploring the United States. She and her husband, David Webster, moved to Charlottesville from Kauai, Hawaii in 2006 and co-founded a local independent film company. Una enjoys acting and making people laugh, the great outdoors, spending time with her family and, thanks to Home Instead Senior Care, getting involved in the community. She has made life long friendships among her co-workers and the CAREGivers.

Christine Shaw, Community Service Representative

Christine Shaw joined Home Instead Senior Care in August, 2011 as the Community Service Representative. Her family includes her husband Mike, their two high school children, Timmy and Julie, their rescue dog named Tipper, and two felines named Tigger and Gray. She describes her family as “tennis crazy” because of their high level of involvement in this sport, though they also are avid hikers, bicyclists, runners and golfers and enjoy participating in community service with various local non-profit organizations. Christine comes to Home Instead Senior Care with a business background that includes Medical Claims, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Project Management, Distribution Management and Training. Kate Bailey, BSN, RN

Kate joined Home Instead Senior Care during the Summer of 2010 as a part time, PRN nurse. "I worked with Home Instead Senior Care CAREGiver's over the space of a few years when I was self-employed as a home health nurse. They were head and shoulders above the caregiver's I saw from other agencies in town and I'm glad to be a part of this team." Kate's job includes client assessment, supervision of client care and training CAREGiver's. Kate and her husband Jerry raised their three grown sons on a small farm in Cismont and they enjoy living the country life of gardening, working outside (with the supervision of the dogs, cats, chickens and sheep) and relaxing with lots of good food and friends. Suzanne Stephens, Alzheimer Training Facilitator

Suzanne has been with the Charlottesville office since 2003. After 25 years in telecommunications she was looking for something that touched lives more intimately and provided more personal fulfillment. Ten days after Jeanne opened this office, Suzanne became her first employee. Throughout her tenure, she has worn many hats, but found her forte was in training CAREGiver's in dementia care. In 2008 she decided she would be a more effective trainer with more hands-on experience and started caregiving. Today she works part-time in the office and part-time caregiving. Suzanne is originally from Connecticut but has lived in Virginia for over 30 years. She is married and enjoys traveling, gardening, hiking and reading. Much of her free time is also spent doing volunteer work with several non-profits in the area.
