Your Home Instead Senior Care franchise owners possess a heartfelt desire to work with seniors in their community. It's the reason why they were chosen to serve seniors and their families.

When you're ready for help, our caring staff is on call to quickly answer your questions and accommodate your senior services needs.

BRYN PAVEK - FRANCHISE OWNER

Bryn is a longtime community leader in Northern Virginia. For many years she was the Director of Adult and Community Education for Fairfax County Public Schools. She also worked as the Executive Director of the Reston Community Center for over a decade and was the Director of the YMCA in Washington D.C.. Her concern for seniors has grown over the years both through her work and personal experiences caring for members of her own family. Bryn and her husband (and co-owner) Chris bring experience, compassion and empathy to their work.

KIM RAY- CLIENT CARE COORDINATOR

Kim brings personal experience to the office team, having been a caregiver for her grandmother, who had Alzheimer's disease. She says she knows first-hand the impact the disease can have on families, and she appreciates working at a place where she can support others going through this journey. Kim's background includes being a preschool and kindergarten teacher, cheerleading coach, and dancer. Her major at Austin Peay State University was education, and she's glad to be back in her native Northern Virginia with her dogs, Lizzy and Oreo, and husband Russ.

LINDA PERRY, REGISTERED NURSE

Linda hails from New York and has over 20 years RN experience.  She has served patients and clients in public health services, hospital settings, home health care, and as a case manager.  Her background includes med-surgical, orthopedics, IV therapy, pain management, geriatrics, and patient education.   She rounds out her hands on experience with administrative skills in quality assurance, chart review, code compliance, joint commission audit, and employee education.  Linda is an active parent of "sports" girls and lives out in the country with her husband, who shares her interest in fitness and the outdoors.

JIM HUNTER - Quality Assurance Coordinator

Jim enjoyed an executive consulting career in the private sector before retiring and becoming a Home Instead Senior Care CAREgiver.  Then he joined our administrative team as our first Community Service Representative. His second career became his passion,  and as the business expanded he agreed to direct our quality assurance program, insuring that our services remain high as we grow.    Jim's extensive experience in negotiating, job counseling and business solutions development provide our office with the expertise and empathy to serve the widest variety of needs.  Jim also enjoys spending time with his family, and is the primary support for his mom, who lives in the area.

NATASHA HOLMES- STAFFING COORDINATOR

Natasha brings compassion to the job as she was a HISC CAREgiver for four years before joining the admin staff!  She also owned and operated a child care business for 10 years, after working in the financial world. A graduate of Howard University, she has a degree in Communications--which comes in handy with two teens at home!

KATHRYN SCHAFFER - BUSINESS MANAGER

Kathryn brings a wealth of experience as a former stay at home mom for two "now grown" sons, as a business partner with her husband, and in a variety of community based service jobs---from driving kids to before and after school activities to managing start up entrepreneurs offices and finances. Her favorite and most compelling work, however, was as the trust officer for her frail, elderly parents. Kathryn gained an insider's view of the complexities of elder care management and an appreciation for the energy and compassion needed to provide high quality care.

LEE ANNE PHILBIN- Community Service Representative

Lee Anne has a broad background in the world of high fashion and regional store management, including marketing, sales and human resources.   Originally from Florida, she earned her BA degree in Industrial Psychology from Florida State University along with double minors in literature and Italian.  Lee Anne relocated to Northern Virginia to support her father's recovery from a stroke, and is providing caregiving support currently to her mom.  These experiences have made her a strong advocate for patient's rights. She enjoys volunteering as a member of the DAR, spending time with her husband Mike and their two cats, Happy and Sheba.

LASHAWNA BLACK- Recruitment and Retention Coordinator

LaShawna is a native of West Virginia, but relocated in 2008 to Virginia.  She holds a Masters in Management and Public Relations from Univ of Maryland, and attended West Virginia Univ to earn her BA in Communication Studies. (Let's Go Mountaineers!)  A long time track and field star, she loves sports. In her spare time, she volunteers with ALS and House of Mercy
