We Can Help You Face the Challenges
In addition to a multi-phased safety and caregiving education program, Home Instead Senior Care CAREGiversSM receive specialized training designed to help them work with clients who have Alzheimer's disease or related dementias. This program was created in 2001 in collaboration with The George G. Glenner Alzheimer's Family Centers of San Diego, California.
In 2003, the American Society on Aging recognized Home Instead, Inc. for the development of this Alzheimer's CAREGiver Training Program by honoring the company with the "Small Business of the Year Award."
Our Knowledge and Resources Work for You
Our CAREGivers can provide assistance with enhancing and restoring the simple pleasures of life, such as a walk in the park, a ride in the car to get ice cream or spending time in the garden. These elder care activities are proven to maximize abilities and independence. They remain one of the best treatments for this disease. CAREGivers who work with Alzheimer's and dementia are trained to:
- Maintain a safe environment
- Manage changing behaviors
- Provide nutritious meals
- Provide mind-stimulating activities
- Create social interaction
- Supervise daily activities
- Supervise for overall safety
