Your Home Instead Senior Care franchise owner possesses a heartfelt desire to work with seniors in her community.  Her passion for and background in caring for her parents are the reasons she chose to serve seniors and their families.

When you're ready for help, our caring staff is on call to quickly answer your questions and accommodate your senior services needs.


Patrice Thabault - Owner

Patrice and her sister Paulette Thabault opened the South Burlington office in March of 2003.   In the later part of 2003 Paulette moved onto other career opportunities, and since that time Patrice has been the sole owner.  Patrice was born in Burlington, VT - the youngest of nine children - Her mother Doris was an RN and her father Wilfred was a local Physician - Patrice graduated from Clarkson University with a degree in computer science and put that degree to work in the Boston area for over 15 years - in 2002 Patrice moved from Boston back to Vermont to assist in caring for her parents - it was this personal experience that has allowed Patrice to approach her business in a very personal way - When not working, Patrice enjoys running, biking and the outdoors. Patrice is a member of the National Private Duty Association, a member of The Center on Aging at UVM Commmunity Advisory Council since 2011, and a member of the Govenors Commission on Alzhiemers Diseases and Related Dementia - serving as co-chair since 2009.

John Hooley - Operations Manager

John has a B.S. in Business Administration from Bryant University. He has a professional background in restaurant and retail management. Prior to coming to work at Home Instead Senior Care, John was the Private Duty Program Coordinator for the VNA. In John's spare time he likes to work around his 1839 Victorian House.  He also enjoys working out, running, playing tennis, and playtime with his two dogs.

Diane Gagnon - Client Care Coordinator

Diane meets with seniors and their families to identify what type of assistance is needed and the timing of care that will work best for the client.  Once the schedule for service is established, Diane returns to the client's home to introduce the CAREGivers and assure a smooth transition.  Diane checks-in with clients and CAREGivers regularly to assure good matches and the best possible experience for all involved.  Diane comes to Home Instead Senior Care with professional experience in a variety of health care settings, including nursing in hospitals, primary care offices, and having owned her own business.  She enjoys the opportunity to work with so many wonderful and interesting seniors, their families, and the skilled and dedicated CAREGivers in our community.

Karin Hammer, BASW - Client Care Coordinator

Karin is a social worker who served as the first Residential Alternatives Supervisor for the Vermont Department of Disabilities, Aging & Independent Living where she developed and promoted programs to help seniors age in place and prevent nursing home placement, including assisted living residences, services in senior housing, homesharing and match up programs, adult family care, and home modifications. She studied at Trinity College and McGill University, and serves on the board of directors for the Vermont Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers and the mission committee of the YWCA of Vermont. She is married to Laurence Dean, has five stepchildren and two grandchildren, and enjoys community theatre, poetry, nature and travel.


Abby Gladstone-Strobel - Recruitment & Retention Coordinator

Abby coordinates the hiring and training of new CAREGivers as well as the training, recognition, and benefits, for existing CAREGivers.   Abby had experience in non-profit volunteer management and program coordination prior to joining the Home Instead Senior Care team.  She has a B.S. in Psychology and Elementary Education from Russell Sage College, in Troy, NY.  For the last 10 years, Abby has enjoyed volunteering with organizations that improve the lives of Vermonters of all ages: including service on the Advisory Council for the Tri-County Foster Grandparent and Retired & Senior Volunteer Programs, Lamoille County Food Share and as Wish Granter for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Vermont.

Zoe Breiner - Administrative Assistant

Zoe's family used Home Instead Senior Care to help care for her Mom and that experience inspired her to join the team. She was born in Burlington, Vt., and has an A.S. in Secretarial Science from Champlain College and B.A. in Communications from Burlington College. Zoe and her woodworker husband live in Williston. In her spare time she enjoys vegetarian cooking, playing with her Boston Terrier and practicing Bikram yoga.

Robin Ashley - Staff Coordinator

Robin is dedicated to getting to know the specific requests, needs, and interests of each client in order to make great matches with the skilled and dedicated CAREGivers that are part of our team.  Robin manages the care schedules for our clients in Franklin, Grand Isle and Addison Counties, along with many of the Chittenden County clients.  Robin came to Home Instead Senior Care with professional experience in the Medical, Legal & Financial / Brokerage Service fields. 

Carolyn Cain Breiner - Quality Care Coordinator

Carolyn Cain Breiner has worked with Home Instead Senior Care since 2004 as a Quality Care Coordinator and CAREGiver.  From the start, Carolyn has used her background as a Registered Nurse to provide high quality care. Carolyn has provided more than 2,000 hours of non-medical CAREGiving for our clients.  In addition, Carolyn serves as a Quality Care Coordinator, visiting with clients to assure their satisfaction with the service, conducting service calls and doing introductions with CAREGivers and clients. She also makes sure families or medical professionals are followed up with if health concerns exist for the client.  At other times, Carolyn answers the phones and helps with scheduling on weekends and evenings. Carolyn enjoys spending time with her husband and is the proud mother of 3 grown daughters and 2 grandchildren.  She enjoys working with seniors and such a dedicated staff.

Bridget Thomas - Bookkeeper

Bridget's primary responsibilities are to process payroll and invoicing, however, she lends a hand in all areas of the business when needed.  Bridget is a native Vermonter who graduated from St. Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont with a B.S. in Accounting.  Prior to working with the Home Instead Senior Care team, Bridget owned her own business for 8 years.  Bridget has a passion for the outdoors.  You will often find her outside playing with her daughter and two little Shihtzus, running, biking, and doing yard work.

Becky Bouchard - Office Administrator

In addition to assisting the Client Service team and filling-in as a CAREGiver when needed, Becky focuses most of her time on Recruitment and Retention.  She conducts interviews, assists with training, coordinates payroll mailings, helps organize the CAREGiver team meetings, and more.  On a monthly basis, she also coordinates the Meals on Wheels volunteer shift that our local Home Instead Senior Care office has taken on in the last several years. Becky earned her Bachelors degree in Business from St. Michael's College and was also honored with inclusion in the St Mike's Hall of Fame for her exceptional achievements in Basketball.  As an alumna of Rice Memorial High School, Becky has remained active in the school community as the parent of a Rice High School Senior and a recent 2009 Rice Graduate.

Annmarie - Quality Care Coordinator

Annmarie has worked for Home Instead Senior Care for 4 1/2 years as a Quality Care Coordinator and a CAREGiver.  She has lived in Stowe, Vermont since 1995.  Annmarie has been married 14 years and has two children, Caitlyn 11 and Victoria 8.  In her free time she is a Girl Scout leader and has two troops.  Annmarie also substitute teaches and is a member of the Women's Club at the Blessed Sacrament Church.
