Amy Herkins, Co-Owner
Prior to purchasing Home Instead Senior Care in West Chester with Phil McFadden in April 2007, Amy started her career there as a CAREGiver. She soon began sharing her time between CAREGiving and assisting in the office. Rapid growth necessitated the need for Amy to focus on office functions including scheduling, recruiting/retention, and payroll. Amy soon became the Manager of Staff Operations for the West Chester office which is still her main focus as an owner.
Amy's professional background includes management positions as a travel agent; as well as, ownership/partnership in Crossroads Consignment and Mary Wilson's Luncheonette, both formerly located in Malvern, PA. She attended the University of Delaware concentrating her studies on sociology and health services and is a graduate of Immaculata University with a degree in Human Performance Management.
Amy was born and raised in Chester County. Her family's county roots date back to the early 1800s. She embraces the opportunity to continually provide top quality service to our county's senior citizens.
Phil McFadden, Co-Owner
Prior to purchasing Home Instead Senior Care in West Chester, PA with Amy Herkins in 2007, Phil managed the Home Instead Senior Care office in Trooper, PA and managed field operations in the West Chester Office.
Before joining Home Instead Senior Care in 2003 phil was an on-air personality at WCOJ a local radio station in West Chester where he anchored and reported on Chester County news. Phil started working at the age of 12 as a coat check boy at his uncle's restaurant business through high school, college, and beyond. This work experience is where Phil believes he developed an understanding for customer service, a key component to the success of Home Instead Senior Care.
He has a pre-med degree from West Chester University and is a graduate of Bishop Shanahan as well as St. Joseph's in Downingtown. Phil and his wife Niki McFadden have two children a son Chase and a daughter Emma. You can hear Phil alongside co-host Janet Colliton on their radio show "50 Plus Planning Ahead on 1520 WCHE Wednesdays 4:30 to 5:00pm.
As a lifetime native of Chester County he enjoys giving back to the community through the Greater West Chester Area Sunrise Rotary Club, where he is Vice President.
Tracy DiGinto, Finance Manager
Tracy joined the Home Instead team in February of 2012 with over 25 years of experience in Finance. Tracy was born in Chester County, where she and her husband have raised 2 daughters. "My work at Home Instead Senior Care is gratifying as we help families meet the needs of their loved ones."
Christine DiGinto, Community Service Representative
Christine was born and raised in Chester County where she still resides with her husband and son.
She has a background in finance, specifically investments and insurance from previously working for a private investment firm.
Through her work experience, Christine has built strong customer service skills and enjoys working in all capacities of customer service. Forging lasting relationships with clients and families is very important to her.
Bill Byers, Community Service Representative
Bill was born and raised on a dairy farm in Delaware County, attended and graduated from West Chester University. Among other things, Bill taught English and coached baseball, and he teaches couples how to dance on a nightly basis.
Bill's favorite things include family, golf, dance, and of course the work he does for Home Instead Senior Care. As one of our Community Service Representatives, Bill spends his time meeting with families and potential clients to discuss their needs and what care they would like to see their loved ones receive.
Janet Richardson, Scheduling Manager
Janet has been with Home Instead Senior Care since August 2009. Prior to joining our team, Janet had a career as a special events consultant. Janet attended and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a bachelors of Art.
Having cared for both of her parents in their later years, Janet understands the true value of Home Instead Senior Care and the positive difference its service provides to clients and their families.
Teri Brown, Care Coordinator
Teri was born and raised in West Chester. Prior to coming to Home Instead she worked in Call Centers, and as an Insurance Agent. Teri currently lives outside of Coatesville with her husband and 3 sons. Teri is passionate about her work and is happy to be a part of the Home Instead team.
Colleen Candee, Recruiting, Retention and Training
Colleen grew up in Philadelphia and is a diehard sports fan and animal lover. She lived a stint in California as her husband served in the Marine Corps. After moving back to PA 4 years ago they bought a house in Chester County and extended their family with 2 dogs, Bear and Bella. She has experience in the health care industry and is eager to learn more as she works in the recruiting and retention department here at Home Instead Senior Care.
Shannon Dolan, Administrative Assistant
Shannon was born and raised in Delaware County and moved to Chester County in 2008. Shannon joined Home Instead Senior Care in April of 2013 bringing with her, 5 years experience of Administrative Support. Shannon is currently pursuing a degree in Developmental Psychology and is raising her 2 year old son. “Having cared for two of my late grandparents, my work here hits home for me. It is rewarding to be able to assist families with their needs and provide care for their loved ones. I look forward to everyday here at Home Instead Senior Care.”
Karen Cardone, Administrative Assistant
Karen was born and raised in Drexel Hill and attended Merion Mercy Academy. She has worked in the Chester County area for several years. Karen brings 20 years of sales, recruiting, and office management experience; mostly from the staffing industry. Karen has a BA in Sociology from Merrimack College She resides in Broomall, PA with her Yellow Lab, “Buck”. She is a true animal lover and has a true heart for caring for people. Karen is very proud to work for Home Instead where she can help those who truly need a helping hand.
Brittany Holst, Scheduling Assistant
Brittany was born and raised in Chester County along with her two older siblings. She is passionate about Asian culture and is currently working to master her Korean and Japanese language skills. In her spare time, she likes to read, draw and listen to music. Brittany understands the importance of working for Home Instead Senior Care after watching her family struggle to take care of her grandfather in the last few years before his passing.
