Touching Lives with Senior Care Every Day

"I have been using Home Instead Senior Care a couple of times a week for the past year.  When we started, the main reason was to help me with bathing.   However, it has become so helpful in other ways.  More and more, it has become difficult to do the little things around the house.  So while the caregiver is here she helps by doing laundry, and those "little things", she also makes me lunch, and we enjoy each other???s company.  At Christmas she helped get my decorations out, and after Christmas she put all the decorations away!

It has been so helpful that I'm always keeping my ears out for people who are my age who might need a hand.  It helps me remain at my home and be independent."

"These ladies are a lot of fun, good natured and willing to tackle anything I come up with; they are sociable and fill in big gaps in my life.  Due to having been transferred around the US, I really have no remaining friends to buddy around with. So I am especially appreciative of their company.  They have cooked and shopped for me on days I just couldn't get the energy to go out.  They are very dependable.  I like smiles and a sense of humor, which they both have.  Some days I find the energy to go out, even when I don't feel well, just because they are so supportive."

"I cannot state strongly enough my appreciation for Betty's CAREGivers.  Each one brings her strengths and love into the very small world of our precious Mom.  I appreciate your ability to "take over" the situation --freeing me of needing to be preoccupied with shopping, food, and the managing of another household.  More than that however, I appreciate the true friendship and love that has sprung up between each one and Mom (and Papa when he was alive).  You treat her as gently as if she were your own Mom.  How could I hope for more?  I was touched when Papa died that your grief was as real as our own.  Your caregivers truly have become a part of our family.  I will grieve when there is no longer a need to have you a part of our lives.

I have also felt much support from the office staff.  You too are essential to the team.  You have led me by the hand through this experience, giving me information and precious encouragement.  I am especially grateful for your understanding and sweet attitude when I have constantly needed to make yet another change in scheduling.

I'm glad for this opportunity to say THANK-YOU for giving so much of yourselves.  It has enabled us to treat Mom with the love, respect, and assistance she has needed."

"I wanted to take a few minutes this morning to personally Thank You for all that you did for us and my father on Christmas Day.  I wasn't really happy with the doctor releasing Dad on that day because of all the hassles it was going to cause.  I can only imagine all the work it was for you as it is plenty for us when we have had to do this for him, so please accept my apology first of all for the inconvenience it caused you on Christmas Day alone but my sister, brother and I would like to Thank You as it meant so much for him to be at home with mom.  We certainly take each day at a time as we know it is just around the corner in having to do something different due to his health, but we will deal with all that when it occurs.  He is on borrowed time right now that is for sure, sad but true.  Thanks again Julie and we will certainly keep in touch with your folks as the changes occur.  I do think it is going to get harder for our mom as the time goes.  Happy New Year to you and all your employees."

You have helped me countless times and many of those I have come out smelling like a rose.  This is because of your extra special touches.  As I have told you all, you are head and shoulders above your competition. Thanks for your commitment, dedication and hard work.  On behalf of me and my clients.

"I would like to take a few minutes to tell you how much I appreciate the care given to my guardian client by your employee, Katie.  My client, who has substantial short-term memory problems, and a very strong perception that she should be in total control of her life, is not an easy person to care for.  She does not recognize that she needs assistance and cannot always appreciate what her caregivers do for her.  Katie is always kind, gentle and very respectful.  She manages my client with grace, gentle humor, and acceptance of who this dear lady is at any given moment.

Katie has an ability to assist without appearing to assist.  My client feels she is in charge of her daily life, which is how it should be.  Katie works well with the other caregivers, sharing what works and what doesn't.  She has been a big help in making the care be consistent and seamless.  It is an uncommon skill and I am deeply grateful to her for the work and effort she fives on a daily basis.  She not only allows my client to be as autonomous as possible, but she makes my role easier too.  It is a comfort knowing she is there."
