Alzheimer's & Other Dementias C.A.R.E. Training Program

People with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias have no  short term memory – they can only live in the past.  From our experience, we know that when we try to force them to live in our world – in the here and now – they can become agitated and unsettled. Instead of arguing with them, we can use techniques developed through the C.A.R.E. training program to help them live contently within their memories.

The key approach to this program is Home Instead Senior Care’s exclusive Capturing Life’s Journey. By using a special tool, called the LifeJournal our CAREGivers and family members record various aspects of the senior’s life story. The stories and life experiences gathered from the aging loved one’s past can be used to create meaningful activities, manage challenging or potentially harmful behaviors and more effectively provide personalized care.

Who Should Attend?
