 Fran Steele – Bookkeeper/Payroll Specialist
Fran was born in Portland, Oregon but only lived there for the first few months of her life. Her father was in the military so she traveled all over the world until she was 7, at which time her family settled in California. When she was 19, she moved to La Porte, and has remained in the area ever since. She has been married for almost 35 years to the love of her life, Pete, and has 2 sons, and 6 grandchildren. Fran has Associates Degree in Electronic Technology that she earned while her kids were in school, and that degree helped her and her husband begin their 1st business, in electronic repairs. That business, led to another venture, and then another, and Fran has been managing these and other businesses for past 22 years. Fran has been with Home Instead since April 2011 as the Bookkeeper/Payroll Specialist. She is responsible for client billing, which includes processing insurance claims, accounts payables/accounts receivables, and payroll. She works closely with all the office staff members to insure that Home Instead runs smoothly and efficiently.   Patricia Cashat – CAREGiver Recruitment & Retention Coordinator
Patricia was born and raised in the Clear Lake and League City area. She attended Clear Creek High School and graduated in 2000. After graduating, Patricia attended Alvin Community College and then transferred to University of Houston-Clear Lake where she graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Psychology. She then proceeded to further her education by pursuing her Masters in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at University of Houston-Clear Lake. As Retention and Recruitment Coordinator, some of Patricia’s responsibilities include interviewing and thoroughly screening CAREGiver applicants, performing criminal and personal background checks, verifying employment, and making sure Home Instead’s CAREGivers are current with their ongoing training and education. Patricia started with Home Instead Senior Care in March, 2011.   Lynda Spruill – Client Care Coordinator
Lynda was born and raised for 23 years in Deptford, New Jersey. She attended Deptford High School and graduated in 1997. After graduating, Lynda enlisted with the U.S. Army as a Medic. While in New Jersey, Lynda worked approximately three years for two Assisted Living facilities as a Personal Care Assistant. In 2003, she moved to Houston, Texas. While in Houston, Lynda worked as an Administrative Assistant for Affluent Holdings for six years. While working, Lynda attended school for Medical Assisting and graduated in 2006 and is currently a Medical Assistant. Lynda is first aide certified and also certified in CPR. Lynda handles our client care coordination and is responsible for client care follow up and quality assurance visits. She does most of the introductions of new CAREGiver to clients, and also conducts most of the Service Calls in our territory. Lynda started with Home Instead Senior Care in February, 2008.   Kelly Kerckhof – Staff Scheduler
Kelly was born in Salem, Oregon “Know as the Willamett Valley” and as a young adult she moved to Washington State where she took her Medical Technician courses at Tukwilla University and became a Medical Technician. She has 25 plus years of experience working in the medical field. Kelly has two daughters and seven grandchildren and she enjoys photography, all outdoor activities and travelling. Kelly and her husband recently moved to Texas from Washington State. Kelly started out with Home Instead as a Service Inquiry Specialist and then moved into the key role of scheduler. Kelly’s responsibilities include; ensuring that all clients’ schedules and shifts are covered; matching clients with CAREGivers to ensure compatibility; ensuring that all CAREGivers’ worked hours are properly and accurately recorded so that payroll is processed on time; and, working closely with the bookkeeper so that client billing is accurately and timely processed.   Katie Pinkos – Community Service Representative
Katie was born in St. Louis, Missouri but six months later moved to Titusville, Florida. She attended Astronaut High School and graduated in 1998. Katie received her Bachelor in Business Administration from Bellhaven University in 2009. After working in the financial industry for over seven years, Katie transitioned into the field of sales and worked in Hospice for Compassionate Care Hospice as their Community Liaison. As Community Service Representative, Katie is primarily responsible for educating the general public regarding our non-medical companionship and in-home care services. Katie enjoys working for Home Instead Senior Care and finds the work personally fulfilling and gratifying, but is also able to promote a service that impacts and helps the lives of hundreds of seniors in the Clear Lake & Southeast Houston Area.
