Home Instead Senior Care Clear Lake, Southeast Houston & Surrounding Areas Office works with Veterans or surviving spouse of a veteran requiring in-home care or the assistance of a caregiver in your daily life, you may be eligible to receive pension benefits from the Veterans Administration.

Improved Pension
This pension benefit program is federally funded for veterans and/or their surviving spouses. It is designed to fund in-home care for those who meet established criteria. It may be in addition to a VA Pension or a VA Compensation.

Information:
VA Pension is available for Veterans AND Widows of Veterans.
$22 Billion dollars is set aside each year for pension but only 1.5% is used.
An estimated 275,000 WWII Veterans do not know about it.
Millions of Korean War Veterans or Widows do not know about it.
Widows can qualify if they were married to the Veteran at his time of death, and have not remarried since. Unless the most recent marriage was to a Veteran. The Widow could not have divorced the most recent Veteran.
Preliminary Qualifications:
90 days of active duty, 1 day during wartime
Honorably or Medically discharged
Private paying for Medical Expenses
How much will the applicant receive?
Married Veterans - $22,104 Annually or $1,842 monthly
Single Veterans - $18,636 Annually or $1,553 monthly
Widows of Veterans - $11,976 Annually or $998 monthly
*Annual pension amounts Do Not interfere to Social Security income, Company pensions, Investment Income, or Military Retirement. The VA Pension is not a Medicaid Program. Qualifications is based on the amount of medical expenses that the applicant pays out of pocket including:
* Home Health Caregivers
* Assisted Living Communities
* Alzheimer's Communities
* Nursing Homes
* Prescriptions
* Medicare Supplement
