 Todd Harrell - Owner Todd and his family started their first Home Instead Senior Care franchise in 1998 in Tallahassee, FL and have since branched out into the Panama City and Fort Walton Beach areas. Todd graduated from The Florida State University with a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice, where he played baseball. Following an injury, ending his baseball career, he decided to open his own franchise here in Fort Walton Beach, FL, proudly serving Okaloosa and Walton Counties! Todd, along with his brother Scott, aided in the care of their own grandfather, gaining experience on caregiving and now understand, firsthand, exactly what the family caregivers go through. “I have a better respect for what our caregivers do on a daily basis,” says Todd. “I take much pride in knowing that we provide the highest level of care in our area.” Todd also states, “My wife and I enjoy increasing awareness throughout the community and making a difference in the lives of seniors. Todd can be reached at todd.harrell@hotmail.com  Carly Harrell - Owner Originally from Fort Myers, FL, Carly graduated from The Florida State University with a bachelors degree in Marketing and started working with her husband Todd, helping seniors remain safe and independent in their homes, in January of 2002. Carly and Todd have 3 sons, Brody, Wade and Jack. Her involvement with the company has been devoted to everything from marketing, to staffing and training, to accounting and administrative duties. “Family is the most important element in our lives,” says Carly. “We feel that helping our clients remain in their own home, with their familiar surroundings, will ultimately keep them more at peace, as well as their families.” As a result, she is committed and enthusiastic about making a positive impact on the clients she serves. Carly can be reached at carlyharrell@hotmail.com Jeannette Buchanan - Recruitment and Retention Coordinator Jeannette was born in Iowa were her parents were born and raised. Her father was in the Air Force and received orders to come to Florida in 1975. Jeannette graduated from high school in 1984 and immediately began working in the health care field where she received her Certified Nurse's Assistant Certificate. After receiving her CNA certificate, Jeannette spent the next 24 years assisting numerous people in the local community. In 1991, Jeannette became a proud mother to a daughter named Laura. Jeannette joined Home Instead Senior Care in October 2006 as Caregiver and later a Home Health Aide.
In 2010, she became the Recruitment and Retention Coordinator, assisting with the recruiting process which includes attending career fairs, reviewing employment applications, interviewing applicants, and conducting new employee orientation. Jeannette enjoys visiting clients in their homes, getting to know each one personally and making sure that they have the perfect caregiver to assist them with their needs! She has lived in the Fort Walton Beach area since 1991, and graduated high school in 2000. Shawaun became a Caregiver with Home Instead Senior Care in 2002 and received her Certified Nurse’s Assistant Certificate in 2005. In 2011 Shawaun rejoined the Home Instead Senior Care as an Administrative Assistant. She has one child and is currently working on her Bachelor’s of Applied Science in Project Management. Shawaun can be reached at shawaunhisc@aol.com  Nicole Patterson - Assistant Staff Coordinator Nicole Patterson is originally from Vista, California and moved to the Gulf Coast when she was 7 years old, when her step-father was stationed at Eglin Air Force Base. A 2004 Graduate of Crestview Senior High school, she experienced a variety of jobs before settling in with the Home Instead Senior Care family in August of 2010. She is the proud mother of 2 beautiful children, ages 3 and 2. She continues to thrive in her Career with Home Instead Senior Care; starting out as an Administrative Assistant with the company, she is now Assistant Staff Coordinator, and looks forward to much more growth in the years to come.
