Doug Williams

Franchise Owner
Doug is a lifelong resident of Charleston, SC, growing up on James Island. He attended Western Carolina University. His background includes many years in the service industry as well as sales and management in the beverage industry. In 1998 his mother experienced a bad fall in her home and needed around the clock care during her recovery. After unsuccessful attempts with private duty caregivers, his sister had to leave her job to become their mother's primary caregiver. He did some research and decided to open a Home Instead Senior Care office in February 1999 in Charleston. In 2001, he opened his second office in Myrtle Beach SC,  serving Horry and Georgetown counties. In 2004, Doug decided to sell the Charleston office and focus on his remaining office in Myrtle Beach. With the addition of his General Manager, Vicki Gilliam, and her staff, the office has grown and has become the most respected source of non-medical services for seniors in the area.  Their care and passion, as well as being advocates for seniors, enables seniors to remain in their homes as long as possible. He has two daughters, Sarah and Amanda, who both attend college in Charleston.
