 Jackie & Michael Melinger - Owners Owners Jackie & Michael Melinger both graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign. Their experience includes health care management, human resources, customer service, and quality control. Jackie served as an Illinois Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, holds a Master's Degree in Human Resources from Chicago's Loyola University, and oversees staffing and bookkeeping. Michael oversees client services, and overall administration of the company. Michael is a member of the Society of Certified Senior Advisors™, is currently serving a 3 year appointment on the Illinois Department of Public Health's Home Health Advisory Board, spent 7 years on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Chapter of the National Private Duty Association, and serves on the Skokie Health Department's IPLAN Committee. Jackie & Michael became franchise owners in 2001 with Home Instead Senior Care, have 3 children and live in the North Shore. Jackie & Michael also volunteer regularly in various community causes and activities, including nursing home pet therapy, Alzheimer’s support group facilitation, Parent Teacher Association, Youth Athletic Coaching, and the North Shore Senior Center Escorted Transportation Service.   Gina Sheffer Gina Sheffer joined Home Instead Senior Care in 2004, and has been an important member of our team throughout the years. She has worked, and is knowledgeable in all areas of the business including Recruitment, Client Services, and Operations Management. Gina is now the General Manager of Home Instead Senior Care. Facilitating support and
communication, and helping families figure out solutions to tough issues are what she does best. Gina has a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois-Chicago, and a Master's Degree in Human Services Administration from National Louis University.  Biju Krishnan Biju Krishnan joined Home Instead Senior Care's office team in June 2007. Originally from Calicut, India, Biju has a Master's Degree in Social Work from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, India. Biju started out with Home Instead as our Recruitment & Retention Manager. He has since switched
positions to Staffing Manager and more recently has become our Service Manager. Biju spends his days at Home Instead ensuring that he finds the best possible match between CAREGivers and clients and providing daily services to both CAREGivers and clients. Also, Biju frequently serves as the After Hours Service Manager for Home Instead.  Barbara Belsky, RN Barbara Belsky, RN has 25 years of experience in nursing, geriatrics and rehabilitation. Barbara has worked as a Director of Nursing for skilled nursing facilities as well as in home health nursing, and geriatric care management settings. Her duties include training Home Instead's CAREGivers in the proper techniques of personal care and body mechanics, and performing in-home evaluations & quality control visits. Barbara's expertise enhances Home Instead's ability to design and monitor plans of care for complex cases, and to provide technical support to our homecare workers in the field. Our CAREGivers! Some of our wonderful, skilled and compassionate CAREGivers. Ritika Sahni Ritika Sahni joined Home Instead Senior Care in January of 2011 as a Staffing Manager. Her background and experience include crisis intervention, physical rehabilitation, career counseling, and healthcare management. She is currently pursuing her MBA. In January of 2012, Ritika changed positions because of her passion for the elderly. She is now helping seniors as a Client Services Manager and Community Service Representative. Ritika oversees care and community relationships for areas including Des Plaines, Niles, Norridge/Harwood Heights, Park Ridge, Schiller Park, and Skokie, and the North Side of Chicago.  Tessa Silvestri Tessa Silvestri joined the Home Instead Senior Care team in Skokie/Chicago as a Client Services Manager in April 2011. Tessa has a BS in Psychology from Illinois State University with a minor in Gerontology, and recently completed her certificate in Marketing. She has worked in healthcare/long term care for over 6 years. Her previous employers include The Presbyterian Home in Evanston IL & Brookdale Senior Living in Vernon Hills IL. Tessa currently establishes and maintains community relationships and client relationships across the North Shore including Evanston, Glencoe, Glenview, Kenilworth, Lincolnwood, Morton Grove, Northbrook, Northfield, Skokie, Techny, Wilmette, and Winnetka for Home Instead Senior Care.  Bridget Murtha Bridget Murtha joined Home Instead Senior Care as a Client Services Manager in June 2011. Bridget received her BSSW from Ohio State University and her MSW from Loyola University Chicago. Her experience includes coordinating services for adults with developmental disabilities and providing medical social services to seniors receiving home health services. At Home Instead, Bridget is currently a member of our Service Department who specializes in helping clients and their families get started with our services. She formulates relationships and acts as a liaison between clients and CAREGivers.  Tania Herbert Tania Herbert joined Home Instead Senior Care in 2002. Her background consists of Masters degrees in History and Education. In 2010, she was named Home Instead’s Lead CAREGiver for her outstanding work with clients. She started working in the office in July of 2011, and was named Retention Manager in October of 2011. Currently, Tania is a member of our Service Department. She works closely with Biju to ensure that CAREGivers and clients are successfully matched while specializing in CAREGiver training and retention. Her additional responsibilities include keeping CAREGivers up to date on their training and compliancy with company policies. Tania is passionate about teaching and providing care to the elderly, especially those with Alzheimer’s disease.  Allison Sheridan Allison Sheridan joined Home Instead as a summer intern for Human Resources and Recruitment in 2009. Since then, she has completed a BFA in Advertising Art Direction from Columbia College Chicago. Allison is currently the Office & Marketing Coordinator, helping out with marketing and other administrative tasks in the office.  Mitali Desai Mitali Desai joined Home Instead Senior Care in February 2013 as a Human Resources Manager. Her passion is ensuring a positive balance of meeting the employees' needs while serving the company’s mission, and truly "Living Home Instead." Some of her focused areas are, full life cycle recruiting, performance management, cultural integration and positive employee relations. Mitali has a lot of respect for Home Instead's CAREGivers because it takes special people who have big hearts and a lot of compassion to provide the proper nurturing environment to care for the elderly. She is genuinely proud to be a part of Home Instead Senior Care’s extended family.  Walter Walter is our company's mascot and licensed Pet Therapy Dog. If you've visited Home Instead Senior Care's office, or stopped by our booth at one of the local philanthropy events such as the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk, or health fairs such as Life Services Network's Annual Convention, you may have met Walter. Walter is a loving and affectionate individual, and has been providing enjoyment to seniors through his therapy for 2+ years! |
