New Local Program Helps Those Afflicted with Alzheimer's Disease Stay at Home Longer

Specialized non-medical care for the victims of Alzheimer's disease is now available in New Braunfels and surrounding communities, and it is helping them live safely and more comfortably both at home and, when necessary, in care facilities.

The Be a Santa to a Senior program, sponsored by Home Instead Senior Care, provides gifts to isolated seniors who otherwise might not be remembered during the holiday season.

Seniors without family or friends feel the loneliness of the holidays more than those who have a strong support network. Whether they are in a nursing home or their own homes, it's important to reach out to isolated older adults during this special time of the year.

Home Instead Senior Care's Operation Medicine Cabinet™ Protects Seniors and Our Community Water Resources by Safely Disposing of Old Medicine

Home Instead Senior Care, in partnership with the San Marcos Police Department and the City of San Marcos Public Services Department, has scheduled Operation Medicine CabinetTM for Saturday, May 2nd, 2009 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM to help San Marcos residents safely dispose of expired or no longer used prescription and over-the-counter medications.  The "drive-up and drop-off" event will be held at the San Marcos Police Department drop-off location located at 2300 S. IH-35.
