Mike and Carol Maguire have been joint owners of Home Instead Senior Care, Northern Colorado (HISC), since March 2006. They became HISC owners because of a commitment and desire to help seniors remain independent and to age in place.
This commitment arose from the Maguires’ previous experience with HISC. Mike began his career at the Home Instead Corporate Office in 1999, and was in charge of franchise development for Eastern North America. Carol started with HISC in Omaha, Nebraska, while she was still in college. She worked as a CAREGiver and, after graduating, took a position with the original Home Instead franchise office as a service coordinator. In 2000, she was promoted to the HISC corporate office.
Currently, both Mike and Carol are deeply involved in the Northern Colorado community. Carol volunteers at St. Joseph’s School and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Mike is a board member for Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado, and a volunteer and committee member for the Alzheimer’s Association. He is also a member of the advisory council for the Northeastern Colorado chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, a board member of Professionals for Seniors, and a member of the Elder Care Network of Larimer County.
Between the two of them, Mike and Carol have 14 siblings. Their strong sense of commitment to faith and family has been their guiding force. Their parents taught them the importance of treating one’s fellow human beings with dignity and respect, and they do their best to honor their example of hard work and integrity every day.
