Home Instead Senior Care Central Coast will offer respite care service for volunteers who want to walk in the upcoming Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk 2008. The nationwide event, with walks taking place throughout the county, aims to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research.

In San Luis Obispo, the event will be held 9 a. m. to noon Oct. 25 at Laguna Lake Park. Funds are raised through pledges to participants.

Home Instead will fill in on caregiving duties for anyone that wants to join its team but would not be able to participate due to care issues for a loved one. Call 773-3744.
