Hiring the right calibre of CareGivers is one of our most important activties, and we take it very serious.  During our 101/2 year history, we can accurately say that only a small percentage of those applicants who apply for employment are actually invited to join Home Instead Senior Care of Bucks County.  Only after a very thorough screening, skill testing, referencing, and general health screening are we comfortable in offering employment.
 
After the initial interview and screening, we then perform reference checking.  This part of the process requires that applicants must provide at least six references including past employers, clients cared for, and personal contacts. 
 
The third process consists of a thorough Orientation session which takes up the better part of a day with involvement of our entire Management Team.  Prior to the formal Orientation, a Drug Screen is performed.  If a question arises at this juncture, the applicant does not complete the Orientaion.
 
Prior to receiving their first client, the caregiver is skill tested to ascertain their slill level and the client care level they are trained to handle.
 
Once the caregiver recieves their first client assignment they are formally introduced to their client by our Director of Quality Assurance & Training who at that time prepares a formalized Care Plan.  After this first client experience, our Q.A. Director communicates with the caregiver to assess their client experience.
 
We recognize that Caregivers need nurturing as do our clients.  This being said, they are receive continued mentoring by our Director of Q.A., H.R. Coordinator, Staffing Coordinator, and peer review by a fellow Caregiver Mentor.
 
To us, these steps are essential in assuring caregiver-client success.
