CAREGIVER STORIES AND THOUGHTS
Dinner out at Red Lobster
Jo Ann has been a part of our growing “family” for close to two years. She wanted to share the following experience with a client,” Her client’s family invited me out to Red Lobster with them on “Good Friday”. We all sat together- all 10 of us at the table laughing and sharing memories”. This experience has stayed with her to this day.
Jo Ann also commented on her experience with our agency. She stated, “Staff, clients had been great and has allowed her to be a part of wonderful experiences with her clients. She said, “ working with Home Instead Senior has been terrific and feels like a family”. She is “ grateful everyday to be a part of such a loving, compassionate and truly caring employer. She is proud to say, “I work for Home Instead Senior Care”.
Being asked by the family to be there at client’s final moments
Diane has been apart of our growing “family” for close to four years. She wanted to share the following experience with a client. “When my client’s family had gathered during her final moments they asked me to join them.
Diane’s experience thus far with Home Instead Senior Care is that she is grateful for all the continuing education and training provided. She said, “ by attending the quarterly in-service meetings, listening to speaker and completing our self-studied guides has provided her a lot of useful information to be a better caregiver”. Also, she shared “the staff are friendly, reliable and trustworthy. She would recommend this agency to anyone”.
Never forget her 1st Client-Loves to Sing
This caregiver has only been a part of our growing “family” for little over two months but she said, “My first client was amazing”. She learned as the service went on this client loved to sing and sang all different types of songs. Also, she remembered all the stories her client shared. All these experiences made this a lasting memory and client she would never forget”.
This caregiver loves her job and loves help people. This is the position in which she can help many people in so many ways.
A Spouse breathed a sigh of relief
Betsy has been a part of our growing “family” for close to a year. An experience, she wanted to share was “When the spouse of my client opened the door she saw the relief on her face because I was there to take care of her husband. As a bonus, I even learned how to cook fried Matzo”. I learned how to deal with a person with Alzheimer’s and how sad it is to see a person with that disease”.
Betsy’s experience with our agency has been great and she said, she is lucky to have two great clients. They all get along very well. She even recommended a friend who was hired and Betsy “told her friend this agency offers flexible hours, she has been pleased with the assignments she has been given”.
