Jill Blankshen - April 2012 ~CAREGiver of the Month~ We are pleased to announce that Ms. Jill Blankshen is our CAREGiver of the Month for April 2012. Jill joined our Home Instead team in April 2010. Jill was chosen this month because she strongly exhibits the characteristics we look for in CAREGivers. She is compassionate, reliable, she becomes a part of the family and is a great advocate for the client and their family. She provides peace of mind for her clients' families because she is so trustworthy. Jill makes her clients feel special because she gives of herself, but also receives from them. One of her clients is currently teaching Jill to knit! Jill is also a great cook and her clients always enjoy the special meals she makes for them. Joan Clemmings-Davis - March 2012 ~CAREGiver of the Month~ We are pleased to announce that Ms. Joan Clemmings-Davis is the CAREGiver of the Month for March 2012. Joan joined our Home Instead team in July of 2011. Since then she has been a very active and dependable part of our family. She takes her time getting to know her clients and she becomes a guardian angel in a sense. Joan is always there to help her clients with any and everything. Thank you for all you do! .jpg) Karen Podolak - February 2012 ~CAREGiver of the Month~ We are pleased to announce that Mrs. Karen Podolak is our CAREGiver of the month for February 2012. Karen joined our Home Instead team in December of 2010. The CAREGiver chosen as CAREGiver of the month is the one we feel best personifies Home Instead Senior Care's dedication to seniors in serving our clients and our community. Karen was chosen this month because she exhibits the special qualities that make her an outstanding CAREGiver. She understands her clients and anticipates their needs before they know themselves. Her clients love it when she comes and visits them. She has that certain something that makes them and everyone around her feel special. Karen is married and the mother of a 10 year old daughter. She is also the leader of her daughters Girl Scout troop. In her work and home life, Karen is a born CAREGiver and leader who always puts others before herself. We would like to congratulate you on being such a great and loving CAREGiver!  Pam Linde - January 2012 ~CAREGiver of the Month~ We are pleased to announce that Ms. Pam Linde is the CAREGiver of the month for January 2012. Pam joined our Home Instead team in July of 2004. The CAREGiver chosen as CAREGiver of the month is the one we feel best personifies Home Instead Senior Care's dedication to seniors in serving our clients and our community. Pam was nominated as CAREGiver of the month because she has such a passion and love for her clients that they have no doubt about the care they receive from her. Her clients and their families love her and know they can rely on her to be there whenever she is needed. Pam has a very active personal life in which she is the main caregiver to her own family. In addition to that she still finds time to be an extraordinary CAREGiver to her clients. As well as being such a kind and loving CAREGiver, Pam always has her paperwork done correctly and in on time. We appreciate all that she does and are honored to have her as part of our Home Instead Senior Care team! Thanks again Pamela.  Patsy DeJesus ~~ 2011 CAREGiver of the Year ~~ This year's award was presented to Patsy DeJesus. You might say that Patsy is God's gift to her clients and their families. One of her greatest strengths is her spirituality. Patsy has worked with several hospice clients and has helped prepare the client as well as their family for the inevitable. Her personality is such that she easily adapts to any family situation.
One client's daughter said, "there is an energy around her that feels otherworldly." Some people just by their very nature go over and beyond what is expected of them. Another client's family member said, "Patsy is grace personified. She has a calming presence that is both reassuring and loving. I knew that my father was in good hands with her and I knew that beyond the physical skill she'd demonstrated in her ability to care, she had something extra - something that not everyone has - the ability to support emotionally and spiritually."
Patsy is a unique woman. She is a born CAREGiver - lovely and loving; a healing spirit. We are proud to name Patsy DeJesus as our 2011 CAREGiver of the Year!  Beverly Cusack - December 2011 ~CAREGiver of the Month~ We are pleased to announce that Beverly is the CAREGiver of the Month for December 2011. Beverly joined our Home Instead team in July of 2009. The CAREGiver who is chosen as CAREGiver of the Month is the one we feel best personifies Home Instead Senior Care's dedication to seniors in serving our clients and our community. Beverly was nominated as CAREGiver of the Month because she is very reliable and dependable and you can tell by her gentle nature and compassion how much she enjoys spending quality time with her clients. Beverly always goes above and beyond her call of duty in everything she does, becoming really good friends with her clients. She's always willing to go the extra mile for her Home Instead family, too, picking up extra shifts and being ready to help. Jorgen Hjorth - November 2011 ~CAREGiver of the Month~ We would like to congratulate Jorgen for being our November CAREGiver of the Month! Jorgen joined our Home Instead team in March of 2010. Jorgen is a very kind, reliable and patient CAREGiver. He shows this in the way he extends his help and caring to anyone who has an apparent need. He uses his good will and humor to lighten up the atmosphere in a room and to cheer people up. Jorgen is the kind of person who can anticipate his client's needs before they even know themselves. His compassion and people skills make him an amazing CAREGiver. Jorgen is also very active in volunteer work and his compassion for those less fortunate than himself is only one of his great qualities. Kathleen joined our Home Instead team in February of 2011. Our staffers rave about how responsible and reliable Kathy is. She is always willing to accept shifts and have been flexible when client's needs or schedules change. Patsy DeJesus - September 2011 ~CAREGiver of the Month~ We would like to congratulate Patsy DeJesus of Southbury for being our September CAREGiver of the Month. Patsy joined our Home Instead team in June of 2006. Patsy is a people person and loves to spend her time in the company of others. Her clients enjoy her company as much as she does theirs. She enjoys volunteering her time with the food bank and church. Patsy received her associate's degree in early childhood education and right now is attending Springfield College in pursuit of her bachelor's degree in early childhood concentration program. Shari joined our Home Instead Senior Care team in September of 2008. Shari is a very caring and compassionate CAREGiver. One of the things that make her such a great CAREGiver is how nurturing she is to her clients. She "adopts" her clients as family and treats them as though they were her own mom and dad. Shari is a great advocate for her clients, their needs become her needs and she always makes sure her clients are well taken care of before she leaves for the day. Elizabeth Ross - July 2011 ~CAREGiver of the Month~ We would like to congratulate Elizabeth Ross on being our July CAREGiver of the Month! Liz joined our Home Instead Senior Care team in December of 2010. Liz is a very reliable and dependable CAREGiver who goes above and beyond for her clients. Gail Bellemere - May 2011 ~CAREGiver of the Month~ We would like to congratulate Gail on being our May CAREGiver of the Month! Gail has been with us for a little over two years. Rina has been a CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since April 2010. In this time she has proven herself to be very dependable, thorough and compassionate when it comes to her clients. Rina is from Shelton and is married and has two children, a son and daughter. Her son is in the military. She has her CNA license and is a very skilled and knowledgeable CAREGiver. Cherry has been a CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since March 2010. Cherry and her husband of 17 years live in Norwalk with their granddaughter who they are helping to raise. Cherry is currently going to school at Norwalk Community College to become a Physical Therapist. S he is currently certified as a doctor and medical assistant and PTA. One of Cherry’s favorite things to do is exercise and she makes sure that she does it at least five times a week. In the time that Cherry has worked with Home Instead Senior Care she has proven herself to be a great team player and a great team leader. She is very skilled and thorough when it comes to her clients. We are proud to have her as a Home Instead CAREGiver!  Nina Rivera - February 2010 ~CAREGiver of the Month~ Nina is a very loving CAREGiver and has been with Home Instead Senior Care since August 2009.
Nina is a loving and family oriented person who loves her clients and always goes the extra mile for them. She treats them as her family and can be called on to help them with anything they need.
Nina is a great cook and enjoys cooking for her clients, so you know that her clients are enjoying healthy, delicious meals.

Debbie O'Connor - January 2011 ~CAREGiver of the Month~ Debbie is a very skilled CAREgiver and has been with Home Instead Senior Care since November 2003. Debbie is a very special CAREGiver who goes above and beyond for Home Instead Senior Care. Whenever she is needed, she is there.
Debbie takes a lot of pride in making sure that her clients come first and that she gives them the best of care to ensure their wellbeing and happiness.

Jocelyn Lawson ~~ 2010 CAREGIVER OF THE YEAR ~~ Jocelyn Lawson is a treasure that her clients and their family members have come to love. When one client found out that Jocelyn was chosen as our CAREGiver of the year, their first thought was, of course, who else? Jocelyn is a women who gives 100 percent of herself. Her kindness goes beyond her clients and rolls over into their entire families. With Jocelyn, family members have peace of mind. Jocelyn has been a CAREGiver for several clients with Alzheimer's' disease and Dementia. She exhibits extraordinary patience and understanding with these clients. One clients daughter stated that "Jocelyn is a real gem". Another client said "she cared for her mother with great skill". The key word is "cared". She continually displays great patience, humor and love. A third client remarked that "we have had many caregivers come through the doors, many very good, only one who was exceptional. That caregiver is Jocelyn Lawson. " We are proud to nominate Jocelyn Lawson as our Home Instead Senior Care CAREGiver of the year for 2010.  Andrea Reda - December 2010 ~CAREGiver of the Month~ Andrea has been a CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care since April 2010. Andrea and her husband live with their young daughter in Bethel. In this time that she has worked with Home Instead Senior Care she has proven herself to be a very outgoing and caring person who is devoted to her clients and their families. She is a very compassionate person whose heart is always in her work. Andrea is a go-getter with excellent communication skills. We are proud to have you as a Home Instead CAREGiver.  Patricia Reynolds - November 2010 ~CAREGiver of the Month~ Patricia has been with Home Instead Senior Care for a little over eight months. In this time she has shown herself to be a very loving and nurturing CAREGiver who is willing to help anyone out and will change her plans for anyone if it means she can help them. she is very protective of her clients and treats them like family. Patricia has a wonderful Irish accent and can speak Gaelic and Irish. She also dedicates a lot of her life to volunteer work. She treats her clients as though they are part of her family. Joanne has been with Home Instead Senior Care since April 2008. Joanne is very loyal and dedicated to her clients. She is also very observant of her clients and tends to their every needs. Joanne has always had a very good repertoire with all of her clients. She also likes crafts and puzzles and she speaks some french. We are honored to have you as a Home Instead CAREGiver.  Joanne Hannan - August 2010 ~CAREGiver of the Month~ Joanne Hannan is the wife and mother of two sons. She has worked for Home Instead Senior Care since February 2007. Both caring and compassionate, Joanne is always looking out for the best interest of her clients and their families. She knows how to make family members feel at ease. A good communicator, Joanne regularly keeps the office updated on the changing condition of her clients. In addition to completing the required Home Instead educational books, she is a graduate of our personal care training class.  Sharon Griffin - July 2010 ~CAREGiver of the Month~ Sharon Griffin was selected as the July CAREGiver of the month. Sharon has been a CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care for over three years. As a CAREGiver Sharon is a great advocate for her clients. She is constantly searching for different ways to engage them. During her free time Sharon joined an outside Alzheimer's support group to receive additional training in order to help better assist one of her clients who has Alzheimer's disease.
