Our CAREGivers are residents of Saskatoon who are carefully screened, fully bonded and insured. Each takes part in our exclusive multi-phase training and we place a high priority on matching our CAREGivers with our clients to help develop a bond that will foster independence, promote well being and support the senior’s needs with respect and dignity.

are the owners of Home Instead Senior Care in Saskatoon.

Helen Ashmeade

Helen serves as a Client Service Coordinator.  She came to Home Instead Senior Care following personal experience with her aging mother.  Having juggled work, family and an intensive rehabilitation routine with her mother, she decided to find a way to become part of the solution for other Saskatoon families.  Joining Home Instead's team to help provide a trusted resource for families is a perfect fit. 

Helen McCarthy

Helen M also is a Client Service Coordinator, along with Helen A.  Helen joined us as a CAREGiver in August of 2008 following retirement from an office job.  With her spirited sense of humor, dedication and high standards of care she immediately excelled as a CAREGiver, exclaiming, “Why didn’t I retire sooner?” 

Brenda Gillespie

Brenda Gillespie serves as our Recruitment and Training Coordinator. Brenda joined our team in fall of 2011 following a long career in the food industry and personal experience caregiving in her own family. Caring for our caregivers is Brenda’s goal. She selects the ‘gems’ who provide care in our senior’s homes every day and inspires their learning through training classes and professional development initiatives.


April Zacharias

April Zacharias joined the Home Instead team in fall of 2011 following a career in production and administration at Vecima Networks.  April is an accomplished writer and also comes with experience as a family caregiver.  Her goal  is to assist all members of the Home Instead team in order to provide the highest quality service to our clients and their families.
