Be A Santa To A Senior
In 2006 the Belleville office implemented the Be A Santa To A Senior program designed to provide gifts and bring smiles to our community’s lonely and financially challenged seniors. With the help of our community, we were able to deliver Christmas presents and holiday cheer to 239 seniors. Each year our program has grown with the repeated support of our community. A man came to my door with a pretty Christmas bag filled with a gift from Home Instead Senior Care. After he left, I cried to think that someone would think of me. In the bag was a beautiful handmade lap blanket. I was thrilled that someone would think of me! Yes, I do have cancer on both sides of my throat, no family here and it was wonderful that someone did think of me. Then it was bedtime, and I knelt and folded my hands to say prayers for your group. May you all have a good and blessed year ahead.
