A Tradition of Great Caregiving

At Home Instead Senior Care, we reward our local CAREGivers with CAREGiver of the Month and CAREGiver of the Year awards to show our appreciation for all they do. Home Instead, Inc. also recognizes regional CAREGivers of the Year and one special CAREGiver who shows exceptional dedication is the recipient of the national award — The Mary Steibel CAREGiverSM of the Year Award.

This program inspires CAREGivers to strive for excellence. It creates a sense of pride in the fact that the Home Instead Senior CareSM franchise network recognizes, appreciates and rewards their hard work, compassionate care and service to others.


Donna - February 2012

Congratulations to Donna for being recognized as this month's CAREGiver of the Month.  Donna has made a dramatic impact on the lives of the clients she serves.  Her client's families feel confident and at ease when Donna is with their loved ones.  Thank you to Donna for the outstanding care she provides and the heart she shares with Home Instead clients!

Ruthie - January 2012

We are proud to recognize Ruthie as our January 2012 CAREGiver of the Month.  Ruthie truly excels in challenging situations and provides a calming and loving presence to her client's and their families.  She has a heart for hospice clients and is invaluable to the families with whom she works.  She is an outstanding member of our team!

Congratulations to Tina for being recognized as our November 2011 CAREGiver of the Month.  Tina is a versatile and talented CAREGiver that adapts will to any assignment.  She works with clients on an hourly and live-in basis and brings a great deal of experience and compassion to those she works with.  Thank you to Tina for her great work!!!

Dorothy - October 2011

Congratuations to Dorothy for being recognized as our October 2011 CAREGiver of the Month!  In the brief time that she has been with Home Instead Senior Care, Dorothy has distinguished herself as an outstanding CAREGiver.  She has faced a number of difficult situations with poise and confidence.  We are proud to have her as a member of our team!

Eva - September 2011

Congratulations to our September 2011 CAREGiver of the Month.  Eva has distinguished herself as an outstanding CAREGiver.  She is finds creative and unique ways to keep her client mentally and socially engaged.  She plans tailored outings for her client with dementia that have allowed her client to maintain an outstanding quality of life despite her diagnosis.

Theresa - August 2011

Theresa is our August 2011 CAREGiver of the Month.  We are very proud to recognize Theresa for her contributions to her clients.  In the short time she has been with us, Theresa as shown herself to be reliable and cool under pressure.  She is a compassionate and humble person who is appreciated and respected by her clients.

Lilly - July 2011

Meet, Lilly, our 2011 July CAREGiver of the Month.  Lilly has been with Home Instead for over 3 years.  During that time, she has contributed to the quality of life of numerous clients.  She is a hard-worker who never forgets the little things that make all the difference.  She's reliable, caring and her clients love her!  CONGRATS!!!

Nora - June 2011

Congratulations to our June 2011 CAREGiver of the Month, Nora Flores!  Nora has distinguished herself as an outstanding CAREGiver since she joined our company in April of 2010.  She has worked with several hospice clients.  Her calm and kind personality is appreciated by her client's and their families during such a difficult time.  We are proud to have her as a member of our team!

Dyann - May 2011

Dyann is our May 2011 CAREGiver of the Month.  She has been with our team for over 4 years and this is the 2nd time being recognized as CAREGiver of the Month.  Dyann is able to adapt to a variety of client situations.  She is a great cook and takes a lot of pride in keeping the house running like clockwork.  She is an upbeat person with a heart of gold!!!


Sonia - April 2011

We are proud to recognize Sonia as our April 2011 CAREGiver of the Month!  Sonia has only been with us for a few short months.  During that time, she has distinguished herself as an exceptional CAREGiver.  She is flexible and adapts to any situation.  Her genuinely caring personality has brightened the lives of the clients she serves. 

JoAnn - March 2011

Congratulations to our CAREGiver of the Month for March.  JoAnne has been a valued member of our team since 2006.  Her work as a 24 hour CAREGiver makes her a trusted member of the family.  Her kind and quiet demeanor allows her to work well with different personality types.  She is currently caring for a 101 year old client!

Angeles - February 2011

Congratulations to our CAREGiver of the Month for February.  We are proud to recognize Angeles for her outstanding work with Home Instead Senior Care.  She is one of our veteran CAREGivers, having been with us since May of 2002.  During that time, she has distinguished herself and as dedicated and caring individual that gives her best to each client.  She is a fantastic cook and enjoys sharing her talent with her clients.


Carlyn - January 2011

Congratulations to our CAREGiver of the Month for January!  Carlyn joined our team slightly less than a year ago and distinguished herself in that short time.  She comes to us with previous experience as private caregiver and as a CNA at a rehab facility.  Her calm and quiet demeanor is soothing to her clients and her appreciated by all.


Maggie - December 2010

Congratulations to Maggie for being recognized as our December 2010 CAREGiver of the Month!  Maggie has been a valued member of our team for over three years.  She is a loyal and reliable individual who approaches each assignment with kindness and dedication.  She makes a difference with every client with whom she works.   

Juana - November 2010

Congratulations to Juana, for being recognized as our CAREGiver of the Month for November!  Juana has been with our company for two and a half years.  She is extremely reliable and is always there for her client.  Her kindness does not go unrecognized.  With a CAREGiver like Juana, her client and their family never has to worry! 

Shirley - October 2010

We are proud to recognize Shirley as our October 2010 CAREGiver of the Month.  In the time she has been with us, she has distinguished herself as and outstanding CAREGiver.  She is a joy to be around and truly loves helping others.  Her kind and genuine personality puts her clients at ease and makes her a trusted and valued team member. 

Helen - September 2010

Congratulations to our September 2010 CAREGiver of the Month.  Helen has been a member of our team since 2005.  She is a cheerful CAREGiver that is adored by her clients and their families.  She instantly wins over new clients with her charm and sense of humor. We are proud to have her as a representative of our organization!

Channel - August 2010

Our August 2010 CAREGiver of the Month is Channel!  She has been an amazing CAREGiver with Home Instead Senior Care for over 3 years.  Always a team player, Channel has been known to take assignments on short notice and rearrange her personal schedule to accommodate the needs of her clients.  Her kindness is felt by her cleints and their families!

Johnnie - July 2010

We are pleased to recognize Johnnie as our July 2010 CAREGiver of the Month.  She has been with us for nearly a year and a half.  During that time, she has provided outstanding care for a number of Home Instead clients.  Clients have called Johnnie caring, patient and faithful CAREGiver.  She regularly goes above and beyond the call of duty and her clients consider her a member of the family! 

Suzette - June 2010

Suzette is our June 2010 CAREGiver of the Month.  She has a fun-loving personality that makes her a delight to work with.  She is an incredibly caring woman who takes a strong personal interest in the wellbeing of her clients.  She is always ready to do whatever it takes to assist her client and has even been known to rearrange her personal schedule to accommodate the changing needs of her client!

Wyomissing, Pennsylvania

Lisa Barr Kazmierczak saw eyelids flutter. Her client, who had vowed not to get out of bed that day, was curious. The client and CAREGiver had exchanged words that, had she believed them, would have broken Lisa's heart. Despite encouragement, the client refused to rise and shine. Lisa told her she would check again in 15 minutes, but the client told her not to bother.

In fact, she's the first one to admit it's made her a better CAREGiver. "Going through MS makes me more understanding and compassionate for other people's illnesses," she said.

A good deed led Charles Ripley of Des Moines, Iowa to make caregiving a successful career long after he had retired from other jobs. "I became interested in caregiving when I took care of a friend with emphysema," Charles said. "I'd pick him up and take him to dinner and I'd drive him where he needed to go. When he couldn't take care of himself, I helped him find a nursing home."
