2008 CAREGivers of the Month
At Home Instead Senior Care, our CAREGivers are the best. For most of them, working at Home Instead isn't just a job - it's a calling, even a vocation. They understand that they are giving of themselves in order to help a senior live independently, and stay safely in their home, wherever that may be.
We only hire about 10% of those who apply for caregiving positions because we are very picky and insist on excellence. We always ask the question, "Would I trust this person with my mom or dad?" Once we find the right people, we conduct thorough criminal and driving background checks, and we check six personal and professional references to be sure they are qualified to care for our clients. Once they have passed the test, and are bondable and insurable, they begin a three-month journey of training that will teach them the basics of caregiving, and then move into advanced levels of training that include Alzheimer's and related dementias, Parkinson's, incontinence management, vital sign reading, and advanced companionship techniques and activity planning.
Because of their service and passion for caring, we recognize the cream of the crop each month and year by declaring our CAREGiver of the month, and CAREGiver of the year. Below is our 2008 list of monthly winners. You can find our annual winners on the CAREGivers of the Year link at the top of this page.
