Suzanne M. Roberts, Co-Owner and President
I am almost a native of Portland, born in Vancouver. I grew up there, raised four children there, and completed my BA in Human Services there. In 1982 I took a job in San Francisco, followed by 3 years on Maui, then came back to the NW and have been in Portland since 1990. Christmas of l998, my daughter Karen who was working part time for the Bellevue, Washington Home Instead Senior Care franchise handed me their brochure and said, “Mom, if they don’t have one of these in Portland you should do it.” I did. Our office opened in March of 1999.
I have written a book for Children of Aging Parents titled Coping in New Territory and have done at least 100 book speaking events. As long as parent’s age, my book will be current. I think I wrote the book so I could be in front of audiences. “Work is love made visible,” says Khalil Gibran (The Prophet) and he is exactly right.
  Bud Roberts, Co-Owner and CFO
Bud is a 1963 Civil Engineering graduate from Oregon State, and a 1983 MBA graduate from the University of Portland. He’s a native of Portland and fourth generation Oregonian. During his engineering career, he was instrumental in some notable projects: the second runway and northeast cargo area at Sea-Tac Airport, Interstate 90 (Snoqualmie Pass Highway) in Washington, Westside Light Rail in Portland, and Mountain Park in Lake Oswego. He is co-owner and Chief Financial Officer in this office. His love since the fourth grade has been A Cappella music. His gold medal Senior Barbershop Quartet, Over Time is still active. He just turned 71. He is mostly retired. He and Suzanne have ablended family of 8 adult children, and 9 grandchildren. Currently, Bud and Suzanne with another couple from Cottage Grove have started a new A Cappella Group, ReMix. Watch for them. When is it going to slow down? Never.
Connie Mulligan, General Manager I moved from Belmopan, Belize to Portland Oregon in 2010. I wanted to help my mother
Suzanne Roberts be free to concentrate on her speaking events and not have to worry about the day to day operation of her Home Instead Senior Care business.
I do not regret that decision. It has been full speed ahead. I am learning everyday. I had the opportunity to go to Omaha last fall and be trained by the experts at the home office. We have a great group of CAREGivers and some very interesting Clients. It is so great to end a day knowing that we have helped a senior stay in the place they love the most: home.
We have a great staff and are looking forward to the future.
Cecile Scheminske, Recruiting and Retention Coordinator
