The Home Instead Senior Care office serving the Low Country was developed with a passionate desire to be your trusted source in helping your family keep your aging mother, father, grandparents or friends in their home as they grow older.

In the Greater Charleston, SC area you will find a locally owned and operated, wonderful non-medical home care service that began in 1999 with the desire to serve the needs of our community's elderly adults.

It's that simple. This is what we do...provide compassionate, companion care and assistance in the low country for seniors. And we are dedicated to providing the best service available in our community.

Harry Fendrich, owner of Home Instead Senior Care here in Charleston, is also a member of the S.C. Aging in Place Coalition, serving as its treasurer and member of the executive committee. The coalition is comprised of over 100 Charleston advocates that have been working for many years on issues arising from the projected doubling of the state's senior population.

This coalition was recently honored by Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer, when he presented the organization with the 2009 South Carolina Leadership in Aging Award. The award acknowledges the efforts of the coalition to help seniors realize their desire to "age in place" by securing necessary support services so they can continue to live independently, safely and comfortably. Governor, and Janet Schumacher - Coordinator of Aging and  Disabilities for the City of Charleston.

In addition to the S.C. Aging in Place Coalition, our leadership is actively involved in many community and civic groups devoted to issues affecting the elderly. Others we are currently involved with include:

South Carolina Silver Haired Legislature, Tri-County Caucus Member

Lighthouse for the Blind, Member of the Board of Trustees, Finance Committee

Low Country Senior Network, Member of the Board, Infrastructure and Finance Committees

and we are  Members of the Better Business Bureau and The National Private Duty Association.

No matter where seniors live, in their home or in a care facility or even if they are being treated in a hospital, Home Instead Senior Care is currently providing thousands of hours of senior home care services annually to clients in Charleston, Berkeley and Dorchester Counties of SC. We provide all the care your seniors need for life!
