2011: Since 2004, The Greater Dallas Chapter of The Alzheimer’s Association has recognized exceptional professional caregivers in its 34 county service area. Award winners set the highest standard of practice in Alzheimer’s caregiving. Our central Dallas office is honored that for the last three years one of our outstanding caregivers has been recognized for an award. On November 2, 2011 Anna Dube was awarded the Diane and Hal Brierley Caregiver Award at the annual Alzheimer’s Association’s Richard J. Price Caregiver Conference in Dallas, TX. The plaque plus the generous donation of $1000 was presented to Anna by Ms. Stacey Jones Angel.
Anna has worked for our central Dallas office since 2007, and she has become one of our most sought after caregivers. There has not been a client for whom she has worked who hasn’t raved about her work ethic, kindness, and devotion. She is bright, sharp and willing to accept new challenges. Prior to immigrating to the United States from her homeland, Zimbabwe, Anna provided daily care for children and elderly family members. In her lifetime, Anna has experienced all aspects of senior care, including taking care of those afflicted with Alzheimer’s Disease or other dementias. Her very first assignment with Home Instead was to work with a difficult, hard to please client who came to depend on Anna’s comfort and companionship as she transitioned into her altered state of mind. Anna was the rock for the client and her family when dementia was winning the battle. This is just one example of the genuine compassionate care Anna provides to her clients. Anna understands her clients…she knows how to build trust, take the lead and share her heart with her Alzheimer’s clients.
2010: The Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Dallas Chapter presented on November 3, 2010 the seventh annual R.J. Roper Caregiver Award. This program was started seven years ago by Rita and Henry Hortenstine in memory of Mrs. Hornestine’s father who lived in his home with Alzheimer’s Disease for 17 years. The R.J.Roper Caregiver Award is reserved for a professional caregiver who exemplifies excellence in service to Alzheimer’s patients and their families. These are the special individuals who set the highest standard of practice in Alzheimer’s caregiving. This year’s winner of the R.J. Roper Caregiver Award is Mary H. of the central Dallas Home Instead Senior Care office. Mary received an award of $1,000 that was presented with a plaque during the Alzheimer’s Association’s – Greater Dallas Chapter Richard J. Price Caregiver Conference on November 3, 2010. Four additional caregiver awards were presented at the conference by varied sponsors. It was an extreme honor to witness Mary receiving her award and wonderful, deserving praise. Congratulations Mary !
2009: We are proud to announce one of our caregivers, Doris M. recently was recognized by the Dallas Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association to receive the 2009 RJ Roper Caregiver Award. Doris is an extremely deserving recipient. The awards were reserved for professional caregivers who exemplify excellence in service to Alzheimer's patients and their families. We selected Doris for this nomination because of her dedication and proficiency with her clients as well as her loving and caring nature. Not only has Doris worked with our company for almost ten years, she has spent many hours volunteering her time to seniors and children alike. We could not be more proud she was selected for this award and that she has chosen to work with our local Home Instead Senior Care office.
