pat riveraPat Rivera is a widow with six children, three girls and three boys. She has twenty grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; and loves them all the same.

While working as a housekeeper for a client, the client became ill and asked if she could help her. Pat stated that she wasn't qualified, but family insisted. She has worked for five years for this particular client, even after the client was sent home with hospice Pat continued to care for her.

Pat has been a CAREGiver for fifteen years and has been with Home Instead Senior Care for four years. Pat's goal is to give her best to her clients and feels that if she can make them happy, it's all worth it. Pat feels that Home Instead is the number one in providing care to seniors because their CAREGivers work hard and do their best to care for their clients.

Olubunmi Ogunde

Olubunmi likes to help people and feels that CAREGiving is her calling. She has fond memories of laughing and talking with Mrs. C.  Her previous client would always call other people "Olubunmi" , and she feels that is sweet of her; she loved her very much.

Olubunmi enjoys working a for Home Instead because they are honest and always follow through.

cleopatra ogbonnayaCleopatra Ogbonnayais a single mother of two kids. Home Instead has helped her to get beyond harsh circumstances and has allowed her to feel comfortable and safe. She and the children are very appreciative.

Cleoparta has been a CAREGiver for fourteen years and has been with Home Instead since August of 2010. She enjoys taking care of the elderly since she wasn't able to take care of her grandparents. She loves being around the elderly because they have a lot of wisdom. Being a CAREGiver is not just a job, it's a journey. One of her favorite memories is of Mrs. S. who is always very appreciative and gives beautiful hugs for everything she does.

Cleopatra feels that her listening skills are what make her a good CAREGiver. She listens to them and is very compassionate.

Home Instead is the number one in providing care to seniors because they match clients with the best CAREGivers. They take good care of their clients and their needs; and provide the love and compassion from the office to the home.

Sharon Connally has three children, fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Her paternal grandmother was a Creek Indian.  Sharon's maternal grand parents were in the circus; her grandfather was a tightrope walker and her grandmother was a trapeze artist.

Sharon has been a CAREGiver for some fourteen years; she has been working with Home Instead for about four years and seven months. Sharon got into CAREGiving because a friend of hers was a CAREGiving and told her how rewarding it could be and how interesting people were.

A favorite CAREGiving memory Sharon has been of a couple in Amarillo. His dad was one of the first people to strike oil in the twenties. He made his own bricks with a brick maker and carried sand from the river and built their second home. Their first home was a lean to home; this family is in the Panhandle history books!

Sharon feels that she makes a great CAREGiver because she tries to make the client feel at ease with her. She tries to find out what their likes and dislikes are; sometimes they just want the company. Sharon figures that she has the gift of gab!

Home Instead Senior Care is the number one because they work hard at making the client happy by providing them with a CAREGiver that meets their needs.  The staff at the office is very professional, and when they meet with the client they take the time to talk to them, and to see if they need anything to make their service better.

Lille Bonner is married, and a mother to two children; grandmother of six, three in college and three have already graduated.

Lillie has been a CAREGiver for thirty years and eight years Home Instead. She has always enjoyed helping people, especially the elderly; she enjoys giving them something to smile about.

One of her favorite CAREGiving moments was when she worked for Mrs. Blossom Garrard; she worked there for four years. On one Monday morning, she went in and said "good morning, how are you?" Mrs. Gerrard said that she was so tired because she had been cleaning out the garage. Lillie told her, "don't worry, someone has to put it all back" and she replied "oh, no."

Lillie gives her clients her "all," she tries very hard to make them feel happy, and have something to look forward to.

For Lillie, Home Instead is the number one because they keep checking on their clients. They check to see if they are satisfied with the care they receive from their CAREGivers; that helps them to know they are still in control.

Wanda Batson has been married for thirty-seven years. She has three children and one granddaughter; their pride and joy.

Wanda retired from MD Anderson after twenty-sevens years of service.  She has been a CAREGiver for about three and six months. She started caring for her mother when she was sick, and her health was failing. After her mothers death,  a friend encouraged her to think about applying with Home Instead; she did and she loves it.

Wanda feels that she has been blessed to care for "very good clients." She believes that showing love and respect for the elderly makes her a good CAREGiver. She enjoys talking with them and sharing what she knows with them too. Wanda enjoys cooking for her clients and watching them enjoy eating it; she likes taking them on outings, listening to them and learning from them. Wanda is a loving, caring, friendly person, and she is concerned about her clients well-being.

For Wanda, Home Instead is the number in providing care because they take the time to match CAREGivers with the client; they provide extensive training to their CAREGivers.
