Local Home Instead Senior Care Makes Big Impact with Christmas Project for Seniors
Have you ever watched stories of amazing individuals who made a big impact and wish that could be you? Well, wish no more! With the help of our community, Home Instead Senior Care has not only made a difference locally, but also nationally with "Be A Santa To A Senior".
"Be A Santa To A Senior" provides Christmas gifts to seniors in need throughout Madison and Morgan Counties. Local senior service providers give our office names of seniors in need throughout our community and a small wish list for each individual. Individuals throughout North Alabama select a senior wish list off the tree and become "Santa" to that senior. The generosity of the gifts turned into our office, where they are wrapped and distributed, is overwhelming.
"Be A Santa To A Senior" began right here in Huntsville, AL in 2004 as a small project with barely 150 names on a tree at Crestwood Medical Center. Today we provide Christmas for approximately 1500 local seniors and the project did not stop there. In 2006, Home Instead Senior Care adopted our project and branded it throughout our 900 offices nationwide giving it its very own website,
www.beasantatoasenior.com. Last year the program provided 1.2 million presents to 700,000 seniors! Wow, what an impact we've made!
