Are you looking for a senior care expert to talk to your group about critical aging issues that touch most of us in some way?
As a service to our community, Winchester's Home Instead Senior Care is pleased to offer educational presentations to local groups that are seeking information about elder care. We regularly speak at professional gatherings, church groups, social organizations, employee meetings, community events, and other places interested in aging and senior care issues. Each presentation can be uniquely customized in content, duration, and level of interaction to meet the needs of your group. Below is a sampling of topics we can discuss.
- The 40/70 Rule - if you are in your 40s, or your parents are in their 70s, it is time to start talking. Conversation starters and helpful hints around sensitive senior topics for boomers and their loved ones. (Note: we can also talk about our 70/40 program, hints for seniors to initiative dialogue with their adult children.)
- Too Close for Comfort? - the challenges and opportunities of intergenerational living. An increasing number of seniors now live under the same roof with at least one other generation. This scenario reaches all the way to the White Housein 2009!
- What Should You Know About Elder Care? - an overview of aging and elder care issues, including demographic trends, long term living decisions for seniors and their families, senior living options, paying for senior care, and the implications of caregiving by family members.
- Alzheimer's Disease - the symptoms of Alzheimer's, current treatment available, practical tips on interacting with a person who has Alzheimer's, and resources available that can make a difference. Handbook Available
- Caregiver Stress - who is taking care of the caregiver? Understanding the physical and emotional stress of caring for a loved one and what caregivers can do to help themselves.
- Aging in Place - the different levels of care that can allow an elderly individual to continue their quality of life at home.

In addition to the topics listed above, we welcome the opportunity to develop customized presentations that will address the interests of your specific group.
