Susan K. Walter, Franchise Owner Susan Walter is the owner of the Home Instead Senior Care franchise in Albany, NY (and Capri). Prior to purchasing the franchise in 1999, Susan worked in a family business. A passion for seniors started early. As an undergraduate student at Hartwick College, Susan did an internship with the administrator at an Otesego County nursing home. In the Albany area, as a graduate student, Susan did an internship with the administrator on the start up of a new nursing home. Owning the Home Instead Senior Care franchise enables her to continue her passion for seniors by providing this important service.
  Brianna Harrington, Staff Coordinator
Brianna joined the Home Instead Senior Care team in September of 2009 as an Administrative Assistant, and after one year moved on to become Staff Coordinator. Brianna is responsible for maintaining client and Caregiver schedules and ongoing quality assurance to help strengthen client and Caregiver relationships.
Outside of Home Instead, Brianna practices as a Nutrition Counselor, seeing clients at Plaza Fitness in Stuyvesant Plaza. In her practice, she helps people with their specific health and nutrition needs so they can achieve optimal wellness. One of her goals is to someday combine her expertise as a Nutrition Counselor and her involvement with seniors to help the older community maintain their independence for even longer.
Outside of work, Brianna volunteers at the Honest Weight Food Co-op, where she prepares food in the Deli Department. Ironically enough, she is also a Wilton Certified Cake Decorator and enjoys making confections for family and friends. Other interests include: writing, community health projects, and going to heavy metal concerts with her husband.
 Kris Carpenter, Community Service Representative Originally from California, Kris began as a CAREGiver for Home Instead Senior Care, Albany in 1999. Her very outgoing, cheerful attitude made her a good candidate to become our marketing person. Kris took a brief hiatus from Home Instead to pursue a career as a dental assistant. However, in 2007, she came back to become the Community Service Representative.
In her spare time, Kris is an animal advocate and volunteers for the organization "Orange Street Cats".

Capri, was raised by Guiding Eyes for a future life as a Guide Dog. However, after nine months in training she decided that she would rather be at Home Instead Senior Care! |
