Susan K. Walter, Franchise Owner

Susan Walter is the owner of the Home Instead Senior Care franchise in Albany, NY (and Capri).   Prior to purchasing the franchise in 1999, Susan worked in a family business.  A passion for seniors started early.  As an undergraduate student at Hartwick College, Susan did an internship with the administrator at an Otesego County nursing home.  In the Albany area, as a graduate student, Susan did an internship with the administrator on the start up of a new nursing home.   Owning the Home Instead Senior Care franchise enables her to continue her passion for seniors by providing this important service.

Capri, was raised by Guiding Eyes for a future life as a Guide Dog.  However, after nine months in training she decided that she would rather be at Home Instead Senior Care!

 

Marcine Durrin, Staff Coordinator

Marcine began her career at Home Instead Senior Care as the Administrative Assistant in October 2005.  In 2007, the position of Staff Coordinator became available and Marcine was offered the position.  Marcine is responsible for hiring and training CAREGivers, as well as keeping track of client and caregiver scheduling.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially her nephews and niece.  She also loves to travel and her favorite place is Angers, France and hopes to visit Europe again someday.  Marcine likes to keep busy by participating in many activities which include a beginning Italian language course, and has a Level 3 Wilton Cake Decorating certificate, gardening and cooking are some of her favorite pastimes.

Marcine holds an Associate Degree from Adirondack Community College in Queensbury, NY and a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University at Albany.
