Home Instead Senior Care Began from Personal Experience
Paul and Lori Hogan founded Home Instead, Inc. and began serving seniors in Omaha, Nebraska, as Home Instead Senior Care in 1994. It was Paul Hogan's own family experience caring for his grandmother that made him realize the need for non-medical home care and elder companionship services to help seniors live independently at home.
Fulfilling a Growing Need as Our Population Ages
In June 1995, the company began franchising. By 1998, Home Instead Senior Care had grown to 99 offices and was recognized by Entrepreneur magazine as one of the 100 fastest growing franchise companies in the United States. In 2000, Home Instead Senior Care began international development with the opening of an international partner relationship in Osaka, Japan with Duskin Corporation.

We are dedicated to sharing our success by giving back to our community. Locally, we continue to support the community through our active participation and involvement with organizations such as, the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk, the Arthritis Foundation Walk, and Partners in Care, while also participating and supporting a variety of Area Office on Aging Programs.
Five (5) years ago, we developed The Home Instead Senior Care Presidential Service Awards. An annual award program designed to acknowledge and reward those businesses and individuals who have done the most to best demonstrate the ideals of excellence, service, and integrity in serving our senior community. Through this awards program, over 40 organizations have been presented with awards including over $6000 in donations to area non- profits.
Our Be A Santa To A Senior Program, was established in 2003. Since then, we have delivered over 10,000 gifts to local area finacially challenged and isolated seniors. We partner with local non-profit and community organizations to identify seniors who might not otherwise receive gifts this holiday season. We then work with local businesses and retail stores to help facilitate the purchase and distribution of gifts by placing trees and ornaments within their various locations.
