After witnessing her mother’s reaction to a temporary stay in a convalescent rehab, Martie vowed to keep her memory alive by working tirelessly to make sure seniors get to stay in their houses. Martie’s career as a thriving real estate agent in Northern San Mateo County also gave her exposure to seniors residing in board-and-care facilities. She frequently encountered individuals who voiced their desires to live in their own dwellings. Soon enough, Martie stumbled upon a Home Instead Senior Care magazine article one day while browsing for books. She calls it, “Love at first read. I knew I was destined to cross paths with Home Instead Senior Care, it was an infinite intelligence call.” So, Martie quickly set out to become part of the Home Instead family, equipped with a passion for franchises, sales know-how and vast knowledge about seniors. Her business has been growing since 1996. Martie continues to honor her mother through her franchise’s Grand GIVEBack and Hand in Hand programs.
