In-Home Care for Seniors
The Home Instead Senior Care® network of locally owned and operated franchises is one of the most trusted networks of home care worldwide. An innovator in eldercare since 1994, Home Instead Senior Care is dedicated exclusively to helping seniors stay in their homes as they age.
Care You Can Trust
Home Instead Senior Care franchise owners, administrators and CAREGiversSM all share a passion for improving the quality of life for seniors and families in their communities. Here in your community, we offer a range of non-medical services that can be customized to your needs so you’ll get exactly the help you need. Our CAREGivers are area residents who are kind, compassionate and truly enjoy working with seniors. They are professionals, extensively trained in elder care, and all are screened, insured and bonded.
Home Instead, Inc. demonstrates commitment to quality care through our proprietary PEAQ program – Pursuing Excellence by Advancing Quality. In fact, we commissioned J.D. Power and Associates to routinely survey CAREGivers and clients to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality service.
In Your Neighborhood
At Home Instead Senior Care, we work diligently to meet your needs and more; we strive to exceed them. Although we are part of an international company — which gives us a world of experience and resources to draw on — we are a local business offering friendly, responsive care right in your neighborhood. We provide thousands of hours of senior home care services annually to seniors in their homes, in assisted-living facilities and even in nursing homes. In situations when a client has aging-related medical needs beyond our home care capabilities, we refer them to our close partners in the local health care industry.
Who is Home Instead Senior Care?

In late 2002, our owners, Bill and Sue Bidwell decided to make a career change from their 20 years as educational administrators to owners of a Home Instead Senior Care franchise. Because of their passion to help people, they knew that senior care would be a natural fit for them. After they were introduced to Home Instead Senior Care in November 2002, they met the founders, Paul and Lori Hogan. The Hogans began the first Home Instead Senior Care in 1994. It was Paul Hogan’s own family experience of caring for his grandmother for 12 years that made him realize the need for non-medical home care and companionship services to help seniors live independently at home.
It became clear overwhelmingly clear that the values of Home Instead corporate were a perfect match for the heart of Bill and Sue. Those values of relationship, trust and the noble cause of “changing the face of aging” became the foundation on which they launched their business.
The Bidwells started with their first Home Instead Senior Care franchise during 2003 in Fort Myers and added their second in Naples in 2006. Family is extremely important to Bill and Sue, and this business has given them the opportunity to have them involved. Their daughter and her husband support the business with her expertise in marketing/public relations and he is the director of client services. Recently their son, an aerospace engineer, joined the business as general manager.
In 2008 they fulfilled a promise made to a client’s wife and received their Home Health Licensing through the state of Florida. They now can provide personal care which allows seniors additional services.
Throughout the 7 years of local business, Home Instead Senior Care of Fort Myers and Naples has had successful partnerships with many community organizations. (Senior Friendship Center, Housing and Human Services, Alvin A. Dubin Alzheimer’s Resource Center, Alzheimer’s Association, Alzheimer’s Support Network, CAMEO, Interagency, Parkinson’s Association, various chambers, Kiwanis, National Association of Social Workers, Florida Assisted Living Association, Christian Business Woman, Kingdom Mobilization, National Private Duty Association, etc.)
In 2009, the Bidwells established another avenue to ‘give back’ to the community. They started a not for profit organization called Grace Works Unlimited, Inc. Its mission is: “Encouraging Communities in the Care of Their Own.” Grace Works seeks to support the gracious spirit by helping to build better communities, enriching lives, furthering generosity, driving economic development and eliminating need. Through acts of love and kindness towards those around us, the jewels of a gracious society may be clearly seen.
