Home Instead Senior Care
San Antonio

We were determined to give back to [our mother] in the same way we were cared for. That has been made possible by the caring and competent care we all receive from Home Instead CAREGivers. They are well informed about Alzheimer's Disease, and...let her do what she can for herself with dignity, but are there to silently step in and help when she needs a little direction.

Meet the Owner

Chris Lerch

Chris Lerch, owner of Home Instead Senior Care of San Antonio feels that the home care business was a lieflong calling for him.  He chose to become involved with Home Instead because he felt that the vision the Hogans  (Home Instead Senior Care founders) shared was of a community-minded business light years ahead of anyone else in the business.

Chris opened the San Antonio office in November of 1997 and finds unending motivation comes from his clients, the CAREGivers and his wonderful staff.

Though the greatest difference Home Instead makes in the community is enhancing the quality of life for Clients and their families everytday, the San Antonio office is also active in many non-profits that share its concern with “The Senior Experience”.  In fact, every Friday, San Antonio’s staff takes the time to deliver meals to shut in seniors in partnership with Meals on Wheels.

Home Instead’s CAREGivers are rigorously screened and they are constantly in training.  Because the Home Instead experience involves the entire staff, they too partake in comprehensive training.  Quality Assurance means that our clients never meet a stranger!

Home Instead Senior Care Began from Personal Experience

Paul and Lori Hogan founded Home Instead, Inc. and began serving seniors in Omaha, Nebraska, as Home Instead Senior Care in 1994. It was Paul Hogan's own family experience caring for his grandmother that made him realize the need for non-medical home care and elder companionship services to help seniors live independently at home.

Fulfilling a Growing Need as Our Population Ages

In June 1995, the company began franchising. By 1998, Home Instead Senior Care had grown to 99 offices and was recognized by Entrepreneur magazine as one of the 100 fastest growing franchise companies in the United States. In 2000, Home Instead Senior Care began international development with the opening of an international partner relationship in Osaka, Japan with Duskin Corporation.

Philanthropic Endeavors

In 2003, the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation was created to further the philanthropic mission of franchisees.
