Seniors in Central and East San Diego County

You know you have a special way of taking care of others - maybe you've been a San Diego caregiver or you just want to make a difference in the life of a senior. Share your unique talents and skills to help seniors stay independent and live the lifestyle they desire.

For consideration for employment the minimum requirements are as follows:

  • Speak and understand English clearly in person and over the telephone.
  • Read and write English clearly on an average adult level.
  • Must be mentally able to perform all job functions
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of bending, stooping, kneeling, pulling, pushing, carrying and lifting a maximum of 30 pounds.
  • Must have a clear criminal record and be bondable.
  • Must be willing to submit to and pass a post job offer drug screen.
  • Must be willing to submit to a tuberculosis (TB) test and pass (negative results).
  • Must have a valid drivers license, a reliable automoblie and auto insurance.
  • Must have a clean DMV record.
  • Ability to adapt to various individual living environments and location.
  • Ability to treat and care for our senior clients and their property with dignity and respect.
  • Ability to communicate with our senior clients in a friendly and respectful manner.
  • Ability to communicate with supervisors to ensure service expectations are met.

Although it is an incredibly rewarding career, our clients may not always welcome our help. Some will face greater challenges then others - like mobility issues or dementia. But these challenges reaffirm how much your help is needed.
  
As a San Diego CAREGiver, you may provide companionship and help with daily activities such as light housekeeping, meal preparation and errands. Or you may be asked to perform more personal services like help with toileting and bathing.
