Welcome, from your Greater Richmond Office Management Team!

We are your trusted provider of comprehensive non-medical home health care services for seniors.  We can assist the senior in your life with homemaker tasks (cleaning, laundry, errands, etc.), hands on personal care (bathing, ambulation, grooming, etc.) and many other home care services.

We place a high priority on matching our CAREGivers with the client.  We believe that relationships based on trust must be established.  The bond that develops is one that fosters independence, promotes well-being, and supports the senior's needs with dignity.  We are your eyes and your ears.  And we do it all with a heart.

When you're ready for help, our caring staff is on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week to quickly answer your questions and accomodate your senior service needs.  We will offer a free in-home consultation with you and your loved ones to arrange for the most appropriate care...and with over 250 CAREGivers on staff, we are sure to find a great match!


Kelly Criste-Cook, General Manager

 
Kelly has been an integral part of the Home Instead management team. She has been a part of HISC for over five years and has performed every job in the office at some point - just filling in for others.  Now, she oversees operations in the Richmond office as well as manages contracts with vendors and troubleshooting any problems that arise with any clients or caregivers. Dedicated does not describe how she feels, she loves it and it is not uncommong for office staff to see e-mails from Kelly with time stamps ranging from 4am or 11pm. Her organizational skills and communication strength help keep this office running happily and smoothly everyday.

Barbara Stanley, Client Care Manager

 
Barbara is a 5 + year veteran with Home Instead Senior Care.  She is responsible for overseeing all client care issues.  Barbara will work with family members and clients to ensure the utmost satisfaction.  She is also responsible for quality assurance assessments with our clients.  Barbara's love for senior's comes shining through when you speak with her. She is constantly on the move all over metro Richmond to meet with families and discuss options for occasional assistance to around the clock care. Her job is intense and sometimes incredibly hectic…and she takes it all as though she was meant to do it all along. Barbara has tremendous dedication to what we do at Home Instead Senior Care and will work tirelessly to help clients get what they need when they need it.

Christy Walsh-Smith, CSA

 
Christy Walsh-Smith joined Home Instead Senior Care in 2009 and is the face most seen in the community.  Besides handling our relationships and partnerships in Richmond, she is always working on a project which allows Home Instead Senior Care to give back.  She is responsible for Community Outreach and also gives presentations on important subjects like the 50-50 rule.  Every year, Christy manages the Be A Santa to a Senior program which collects and delivers gifts to seniors in need. In addition, Christy works with the Alzheimer's Assocation and is the co-chair of the Greater Richmond Walk to End Alzheimer's. She is also a Certified Senior Advisor.  Christy says that one of the most rewarding aspects of her position as CSR is working with our fantastic clients and amazing caregivers!

Harriette Horn, Administrative Assistant

 
Harriette joined HISC in July 2010, bringing with her over 25 years of experience.  She handles all billing for the Richmond office and all caregiver and staff payroll for Richmond and Tappahannock offices. In addition to billing and payroll, she always stays on top of Accounts Receivable.  Harriette cares for her aging parents and understands the needs of seniors.  Her compassion for the elderly carries over into her work with Home Instead.  She is truly beloved by the entire staff here and HISC is better for having her on the team.

Takisha Bragg, Staffing Coordinator

 
Takisha Bragg is our newest Staffing Coordinator.  Takisha was working as a caregiver for Home Instead Senior Care for over three years before she took the job as Staffing Coordinator.  Takisha has first-hand knowledge of the perspective of the caregiver and what it takes to work with clients and provide the best care possible to them.  Takisha is a natural at staffing, always caring as well as organized and detailed.  Her abilities and her sweet disposition lend to a sense of trust and confidence and our clients know that they can count on her.

Jackie Leep, RN

Jackie Leep is our RN at Home Instead Senior Care and has been with HISC for over five years.  Jackie is on the go each and every day going to personal care assessments and visits to a large number of clients and new ones added every day.  Those who have met her or spent any time around her will tell you that she is the sweetest person that they have ever met.  Our staff loves her, our caregivers love her and our clients love her.  HISC is very blessed to have such a person representing Home Instead Senior Care each day.  In addition to traveling all over metro Richmond to see clients, Jackie also instructs a personal care review in house at our training center for our caregivers.  Jackie is an integral part of our continuing curriculum that we strive to offer to our caregivers.  In short, she is a light and truly brightens the day of anyone with whom she visits or that gets the chance to speak with her.

Janice Thomas, On-call Staffing Coordinator

 
Janice Thomas is the voice behind HISC after hours! Janice has been a part of the Home Instead Senior Care team for over five years.  Janice handles on-call for HISC when the office is closed.  Though she does not work in the office during normal operation hours, Janice is another staffing coordinator in that she knows all of the clients, cases and caregivers.  She picks up the phone anytime of the night or weekend and handles every situation that arises.  Though her role in on-call is for emergencies only, Janice always handles everything with grace, urgency and a commitment to keeping everyone happy and cared for at all times.  Janice is fully invested in the mission of Home Instead Senior Care and proves that every night and weekend when she keeps everything staffed seamlessly and ensures that there is always a welcome and truly committed voice on the other end of the line.

Deborah Dowell, HR Associate

 
Deborah Dowell is our HR Associate.  Deborah has the task of keeping all files and paperwork up to date based on state regulations.  It is a very time consuming project and is all in the fine details.  She manages to make it look easy!  In addition, Deborah handles the hiring of new caregivers for Home Instead Senior Care.  Deborah joined us in 2011 with years of experience in business.  Her professionalism is apparent when you meet her and you can tell right away that she cares deeply about who works for Home Instead, how they perform and how it affects our clients.  Deborah also heads up organizing PCA Reviews, CG meetings and different training options at Home Instead.  She has to be a serious multi-tasker in this job, and still, always lets her friendly and engaging personality shine through.

Paulina Rios, Receptionist

 
Paulina is the receptionist at Home Instead Senior Care. She is the smiling face to greet you when you walk in the door.  Paulina was a caregiver for us before we brought her into the office to assist with phones, paperwork, log notes and be in charge of our time tracking system.  Besides being caring and kind, Paulina is diligent about the details of her work and maintains a very high level of work as she juggles hundreds of log notes, shift corrections, the phones and everything else we throw her way.  She is a genuine asset here and we are thrilled with her progress from caregiver to office staff as well as all that she brings to the office in her demeanor and abilities.
