Home Instead Senior Care
Savannah, Beaufort, Bluffton, and Hilton Head

I am writing to thank everyone at Home Instead (of Savannah) for their assistance and wonderful care for Marilyn, from the time that she was diagnosed in early September to the time she passed on November 16th. Home Instead provided her with the highest quality of life possible.  The entire family will be eternally thankful for everyone who assisted in Mom’s care and we truly believe that you made her last days on this earth as good as possible.

Thanks again to everyone at Home Instead.

- Steve, Savannah

Who We Are

In 1999, after a long career as a therapist, Rachel Carson purchased the Home Instead Senior Care of Savannah franchise serving Jasper & Beaufort counties in SC and Chatham and surrounding counties in GA.

Her own personal experience with Home Instead CAREGivers, who cared for her mother in her own home in Charleston, SC inspired Rachel to bring the service to the Savannah area.

Home Instead's mission has always been to make a real difference by assisting people to improve their lives.  Following Rachel's passion in being an advocate for seniors, Home Instead of Savannah is enhancing their quality of life and assisting them in remaining at home as long as possible.

For Rachel and all the staff of Home Instead of Savannah, it's not just a business, it’s personal.

Caring Is What We Do

Home Instead of Savannah's goal has always been to provide the highest-quality care in the industry, and our local team shares the same vision of being your trusted partner in care. Every Home Instead Senior Care franchise owner has demonstrated a real commitment to caring for seniors and derives personal satisfaction by responding to this critical need that is growing so rapidly.

Our CAREGiversSM Are at the Heart of It All

Our CAREGivers are residents of the Savannah area and the South Carolina low country who are carefully screened, fully bonded and insured. Each takes part in our exclusive multi-phase training and we place a high priority on matching our CAREGivers with our clients to help develop a bond that will foster independence, promote well being and support the senior’s needs with respect and dignity. Each month, Home Instead Senior Care of Savannah rewards a local CAREGiver with the CAREGiver of the Month award to show our appreciation for all they do. This program inspires CAREGivers to strive for excellence.  See our current award winner and some of the past recepients.

Our Guiding Principles
The Home Instead Senior Care franchise network embraces the following core values
held by the Home Office and demonstrated by our commitment to seniors:
To honor God in all we do.
To treat each other with dignity and respect.
To encourage growth in ourselves and others.
To build value in our service to others.

Praise from one of our own -

Dear Rachel,

Do you realize this is my tenth year with Home Instead Senior Care? It was in 1999 that I came in with your flyer in my hand and announced, “This is something I do.  It fits me to a ‘T’!” And you hired me on the spot

Since then, I have watched you build your business into the wonderful organization it is today.  You have what it takes to persevere during setbacks, and I only know of a few, but you have overcome with the Lord’s help.  You have a superb staff of qualified and dedicated women that surely are the envy of any Chamber of Commerce.

On Saturday, I looked around the room and marveled at their competence and ease, but primarily, the way they back you up.  From what I could tell, this is one happy and contented group, well please with their superior and surroundings.

I believe you have made a supreme effort to keep your caregivers satisfied.  Your generosity for loyalty is unsurpassed.  We can always look forward to on-going education and good food, an enjoyable time and a surprise or two.  Thank you for my Kroger’s gift card and candle/angel present.

I am proud to be a Home Instead CAREGiver and especially proud to be associated with the branch in Savannah.

Most Sincerely,

Emma

Jan Geraghty

Jan Geraghty - Community Service Representative

Jan was born in Ohio but has lived in 12 states. "Now my husband & I are enjoying the Low Country of South Carolina & beautiful Savannah! Having left our three adult children, their spouses, and 5 grandchildren in the Midwest, we enjoy playing hosts to them & other family & friends when coming to visit the area. With 45 years of nursing background, much of it in long-term care, it is gratifying to help families & their loved ones discover ways to maintain the independence & dignity we all desire.  Serving in pastoral care and having had a Bed & Breakfast in our Ohio home, I enjoy meeting people & hopefully making a difference in their lives.  As a member on the Home Instead team, I find many opportunities to do so!"
